I walked down the road today, all closed eyes and messy hair. My feet tapped slow against the sun warmed pavement, the torn and faded canvas around my feet caressing the floor. I felt tingles running down my spine, and although the street was empty, I could have sworn I felt your fingers playing a soft harmony down my cheek.
Dreaming does strange things to you.
My fingers curled around the uncut grass, and I thought I felt your smile from behind my closed eyes. I stretched out, my bare feet brushing against the ferns and tickling me, making me smile and wriggle in the grass. The slender strands of leaf wound around my toes and I slowly twisted them deeper into the web of nature. I smelt peppermint in the air, and reached out for your touch, searching for you.
My hand came back empty and my heart spilt its happiness.
