If you guys have my book Girl7 , you'll recognize this one straight away. This is Lydia Elizabeth Abbington, the most disliked character of the book in an affectionate sort of way, an she is sipping and snootty sweet 'coffee' drink. The BG was a ski lodge of sorts, but i ditched it since i liked her silhouette/pose on its own. She's pretty tall, 180 cm if I remember right.
Many a time I like my work much better without colour altogether barring a few hints towards a sepia hue. This is an old style for me, and for a while I ventured into more realistic territory.
Of course realism has an application, but there is a certain charm with this sort of work that I guess i haven't been able to instill in my other work. I guess since realism all stems from basically the same place it puts everyone who does it in the same point of view, whereas when you have the universe in your imagination , even if you don';t draw well, it can only emanate from you. Quite an intimate experience compared with the the other approach.
I know this track listed below (if it still works) is known by my fans to be a 5C tune, but it works with this one as well.
Still one of my favourite commissions from this year and one of my last for a while. I won't be doing commissions in the near future due to work load, but this one was a lot of fun. Its done in Prisma marker with some pencil crayon.
This one is up for grabs! Let me know if you interested!
This is my "Don't call it a come back" piece as i try to update my dA more!
Well a few experiments, I went with my old school style instead of rendering the eff out of it last the last few things. Yeah you can see lines, no its not painted, but this is what i found works with lineart. The last thing I want is another trip to the uncanny valley. As you guys know, once I started drawing Felicia with her hair straight, I just could not stop. Also this is yet another piece with her fully clothed.I just like this punk clothing deal what can I say!
Here's another group shot from my G7 book! Originally done Sept 7 2011.
This was the text with it:
What a charming bunch of young ladies enjoying a very fine afternoon, scratch that, midnight tea. actually spent a good deal of time making sure that the tea set was legit looking. How I came to have all these particular characters together was that I noted that they had appeared the least amount of times in the all of the group shots.
The details in the clothing took a very long time and colouring them was not easy task even though they were cel shaded. Another case of lines being too thick IMO.
By the way, I'll have you note that Candy's cup is full of sugar

I've been working on Bandai Namco's Wonder Momo for almost 2 years now. many of these characters I have designed whereas all the SF stuff has been off of existing designs. For that reason I think it's safe to say I should have more of an attachment to this series.
There's a lot of momentum and support behind this project, so expect to see more of this from me in the next few years! I intend to do some more of these to introduce you newcomers to this series.
It's written by Jim Zub and Plotted by Erik Ko, so it has UDON plastered all over it.
Take a look, I'm having a lot of fun with it. That means if you like my work, you'll go check it out here (over 130 pages all completely free!) on the ShiftyLook site: www.shiftylook.com/comics/wond…
Process: Drawn with pencil and micron on A3 Deleter paper Coloured up on CS4
Continuing with my Drawing a Day project, here's a a little Tigra action... first time I've ever drawn Tigra so... news to me. Its only day 2 but I can really see the benefit of this project... using the Day to Day calendar to find my poses really lets me focus on just drawing.... I don't worry about what I'm drawing or what the purpose of it is and I really just get to get my daily practice in. I found myself really looking forward to this day's picture all morning... granted I knew I was going to draw Tigra.. so maybe I was just excited about drawing a cat girl... we'll never know for sure.
Beth came up with a good Idea for me to get more sketching practice. She said "You should get a day to day nudie calendar and do a drawing a day" so I went and found something.. close enough. I got it in the mail today, and did up my first drawing. My idea is to draw the pose... that's it, if I decide to draw more so be it, if I don't well, then I didn't. Ha. I doubt I'll actually maintain a daily drawing, I get distracted very quickly... like some sort of "Idea ADD", but regardless, this is the first of that series. Dated January 6th 2011... I didn't get the calendar until today and I'm not going to draw 5 more drawings just to catch up.
lastly I'll enable downloads on these if you'd like to ink and or color any of these feel free to, just link back to here and send me a comment or a link or a note so I can see it. (not that any of you will want to color these, they wont be very good)
Today's drawing I did while sitting at the Cove Bar at Disneyland, Upon coming home to scan it, I realized I had given rogue J-Lo sized hips... I liked it. I wanted to do more, but I had to stop... you may not be able to tell here, but I had so much pencil lead on the paper I was beginning to smudge EVERYTHING, so I had to sacrifice the changes I wanted to make otherwise there wouldn't be a drawing to post... just a gray blob.
Some more art from my work with UDON on Street Fighter Legends Ibuki!
All the pages are drawn on paper first and then coloured on computer. That means any page you see me post has real hand drawn art on paper with ink and pencil that goes with it. Note me if you want more information on this page or others I've done!
Reiva is an extremely intellectual scientist from the Capital's Branch of Knowledge, who gets sent to Noka Island when the government hasn't learned any kind of update on the Noka Island expedition & Ghilcrest's current situation, and to extract all data & samples involving the Cryamore Project.
Being only 25, she's the quintessential "smart aleck". She had a proper upbringing in education, graduating egregia cum laude from CASA (Capital Aggregate Science Academy). She also grew up in a very wealthy family; the Woodbrick Construction Company has a monopoly for all construction needs in the Capital, and their tools and supplies get sent to Noka Island for those working and living in Ghilcrest. In essence, she's the more privileged, less-socially awkward "Esmy".
Her level of intellect bumps heads with our hero, and there's definitely a ton of friction between the two. Reiva has a very explosive temper, so those who know her well act their best behavior so they can have a nice day. She's also a very skilled boxer, and she often tries to use force to get her way...
This all means that she will make sure her mission is done by any means necessary.

SO this was a piece for an SF book we released that got yanked out so that it could be put in a gallery instead. Why they couldn't do both I have no idea since now when that book comes around I've got nothing to sign lol.
Either way, the symbolism is where I started my career with the legends series and how the chronology works in the SF universe. "SF chronology" is a very very loose term BTW.
Juri is my favourite character storywise, with Ibuki as second. It would be kind of cool to do a Juri Legends story, but I would want to write it lol. I should do another "Ask Ibuki" strip or two i think.
Line art is on paper w/ microns 005 - 05 Colours are w/ CS4
This is another one of my favourites from my G7 book. I'll let you read what I wrote for the book below:
Slumber Party Rumble
Nasha, here and now is not the right place to be reading smut like that! Jess punishes the infraction with the time honoured classic elbow drop. Looking at it now, the question is whether Lalli, Teera, and Alexi are going to Jess or Nasha. I'll let you decide, but one things is for sure, Candy is not sticking around to find out.
Technically, this could also pass as a lounging chapter piece, though here I am citing the fine martial art of Pillow Fighting. Note the epic lightning strike in the BG to add effect.
I like the energy in the piece, but the title of Nasha's book is the best part : "Long Dark Knights". Wonder what what that books about... hey wait, why is she blushing?
