I usually don't do this, but...I'd like to say something. There's a deviant out there, who's name I will mercifully not mention, who thinks that people with disabilities are quote on quote "losers". Boy do I have news for him!More Like This
I have autism, so I guess that makes me a "loser". Correct?
Well, I'd like to let him and all the other haters know just what this "loser" has accomplished...
*This "loser" has been in a quiz bowl.
*This "loser" placed 5th out of 24 places in a championship spelling bee locally.
*This "loser" almost skipped eighth grade.
* This "loser" won first place in a poetry contest this year.
*This "loser" had art in an art show locally this year.
I'm Halie Everhart, and I'm proud to be a "loser". Real proud.

Discover undiscovered seas of madness
Into, onward, into the unknown
Scars that are never shown
Stories she and he will never tell
From a time they bruised and fell
Freedom is a foreign word
Like a crippled, broken bird
Cannot simply break away
If you are bound to stay
A prisoner of your very own
When your body isn't home
Once you yourself become a stranger
There's no hiding from the danger
And fear will haunt you down tonight
The question is, will you run or fight?
Though if you choose to fight yourself
It's a bitter conclusion for your health
Cuts and open wounds will grace
Your tender arms, legs, back and face
