Strange GreenMore Like This
The dry earth gave a slight crunch as the large beast walked along in search of food. Normally he would be near the running waters, where plenty of swimmers and other creatures provided food, but being forced from his usual territory by larger ones of his kind driven him towards the drier parts of the tall green, where there was little water and few creatures to prey on. It had been two cycles since he was driven from his home, and he had not eaten at all in that time. He needed food, or he would die.
He stopped to sniff at the earth, hoping to find the scent or trail of passing sail-back or grazer. But nothing. Suddenly the winds shifted, bringing a new barrage of scents to his nostrils. Inhaling deeply, he smelled something familiar, and sorely missed; water. Setting off at a hustle, he folllowed the scent through the trees, hunger and thirst edging him on. Coming to a break in the trees, he saw no water, but...green?
