Goldie felt her heart race at those words, it was as if the cold hand of death had rested on her, chilling her to her core. Then she saw them. They stood as tall as a fully grown male, with skin darker than the most lonely night. Their skin clung to the bone underneath, sickly and skinny, but the worst thing was the razor sharp, rows of teeth that gleamed all too bright for the mouths they sat it.
If Goldie had to guess the number she'd probably guess that she was looking at around fifteen maybe twenty, and they were approaching fast. “ Do not panic, my friend. We can do this, they're only scouts.” Opal's calm, cool voice broke the string of terror induced blurbs that had flowed unconsciously out of her mouth. She turned her head slightly, to look at her new companion, who, had retrieved her long staff, taping it lightly against the ground, no better time to test a weapon they say. Diagnosed with a terrifying thing,
Something that would threaten her life for years to come.
Something that she could never escape,
No matter how she ran,
No matter how she struggled.
This diagnosis was a horrific thing to the girl,
Although, not surprising at all.
The symptoms had swallowed her for days,
Months of this thing inside of her.
This thing that we call
There are people who tell her,
"You're only sad."
However, that isn't the case.
See, she was never diagnosed with sadness.
Everyone knows sadness.
She was never diagnosed with emotion.
Everyone knows emotion.
She was never diagnosed with temporary heartbreak,
Everyone knows all those things.
She was diagnosed with something much, much worse.
Since then, she's suffered with such a terrible thing...
But for days..
Months of this <
