Menkan's adventure to the academyThe night sky danced with stars as a slight chill of the impending autumn came blowing through the trees. The sounds of hooves and the turning of wooden wheels filled the still forests.

Animals hid from the black carriage was cold as death, as it slowed to a stop, The headless driver looked towards the large academy, then to the carriage shrugging his shoulders as he hopped down and opened the door of the carriage revealing the 15 year old girl, curled up asleep, cradling a lump in the shape of a head close to her heart. The driver shrugged again and stepped inside; closing the door behind him he sat across from the young girl, knowing they would be hidden from the rest of the world.
"Menken... Menkan, it's time to wake up... Menkan~" A male voice whispered into the young girl's ear, arms looped down and around her body, lifting her up and out of the carriage. Menkan slowly opened her eyes and yawned.
"Morning... Solas... Are we... there already?" She asked, looking at the human lookin

For almost eight years, Kei had denied herself the thrill of participating in tournaments. Now, she couldn't believe she had joined her second one in two years. She'd won by a landslide in the previous round against Solomon; she had to be careful not to let that first victory get to her head. She knew little of Hoshiko's style of play, let alone her bit beast; there hadn't been much time to observe the dark-haired blader's battle in the previous round.
I'll just have to gather as much data as I can, quickly, she thought, watching, a little amused at the proceedings. DJ Jazzman was working the crowd, while TV commentators Brad Best and AJ Topper kept up their sometimes-witty banter for those unable to see the event live.
