NOTE: THESE RULES ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE. DON'T HATE IF YOU DON'T LIKE. THAR'S WHY WE INVENTED THE BACK BUTTON.
1. The character should have a well thought out design that's unique and original. You shouldn't slap together pieces and parts from a canon character or recolor one entirely. It's unoriginal and nobody really cares for it. You might have to try several different times to get it right so don't discouraged.
2. If you're character is from a fandom make sure it looks like it'd fit in the fandom. Don't make it so outrageous that everyone is like "Huh? That's a *insert fandom here* character?". I know you'd think it's unique but to make it a good character people have to understand what it is. Originality is good but don't over do it.
