1) Don't wait for work to find you. Go find work. Read job ads. Find jobs that suit your skills. Also adapt your skills to match the jobs you find... That's very important. If you can provide a style or service that other artists can't match, that gives you an advantage. Make a list of freelancing sites and other sites with job advertisements. You can find some of them here: http://friendlyhand.deviantart.com/journal/#/d52v4i3 Keep track of which sites provide the BEST job leads for you and visit them regularly. Be prompt when applying for jobs. Some clients will take days to pick an artist but other clients will choose from the first few applicants.

If you spend a lot of time in the DA forums, you will see this topic spring up again and again. Whether you want to earn a living doing freelance art, or you just want to do an occasional commission, these guidelines may help you:
Why is it so difficult to choose a price? Why can't someone look at my art and tell me what to charge? Because it is not just about price and skill level! If three people have the exact same skill level, one might be able to sell their art for $10, another might be able to sell their art for $100 and the third might not be able to sell it at all depending on how good they are at "marketing" (looking for clients and interacting with them.) An artist's ability to seek out clients, choose the right clients, offer a type of work that will sell, communicate effectively, and provide value that their competitors cannot match... is difficult to gauge by looking at a few art samples.

It's time that the group has it's first little contest
Who can take part? Anyone! No need to be a group member.
What do you have to do?
Make something with Dragster, of course!
And make something new! Old works wont be accepted. (The dates will be checked)
It can be either traditional, digital or photomanipulation. Make sure you use Drgaster stock (it will be checked!), and that you put proper credit! Other than that, the sky is your limit
You can do a max of 3 entries!
There's a gallery folder for the entries, you can submit your work there
There wont be 3 separate categories because I sadly can't give prizes to three winners.

It's that time of the year again! The much anticipated, 5th Annual Lilium Stables Arabian Horse Show. This is the largest and longest running annual show dedicated to the gorgeous Arabian horse, and I am honored to once again host it for a 5th year.
The show will run from July 21 to September 21 with no extension.
PLEASE READ ALL THE RULES. If you still have questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
