Tom wrapped the leash and put it on the coffee table. Then he turned back to Maya, who looked at him confused but also relieved.
"Be careful and stay away from the edge, understand?" He said, in a slightly stern tone and she replied with a nod. Then he looked away from her and reached for the phone that still lay where he had put it yesterday: on the coffee table. Yesterday he had forgotten to call his mother, as he had actually promised. He quickly dialled the number, waiting for the dial tone and after several ringing his mother picket up at last.
"Hi Mom, It's me, Tom."
"Oh Tommy, I thought you were going to call me yesterday."
"Yes, I'm sorry. Somehow, yesterday everything took a long time and everything was pretty exciting. I've just forgotten it."
"Well, I can understand, of course. But now tell me, how do you cope with the small Twimp?"
Tom looked back over t
An Illegal Trade 8I lay Ellie down onto my pillow, before stretching my arms over my head, gazing down at her adorable expression... She really was cute- I felt my mouth curl into a childish smile as I continued to stare...More Like This
But after a moment or so, Jake's words echoed in my mind.. He told me to not treat her as a pet... I wasn't treating her like an animal- was I?
I sighed and walked over to my desk, and sat down slowly into my chair.
I needed supplies. For Ellie, Jake and I. I couldn't bring Ellie with me to the Shopping Center- it was too risky...
But I didn't want to leave her alone with Jake. Absolutely not! And Jake had no idea how to shop for a three and a half inch tall girl... I grabbed a stray sheet of notebook paper and began scribbling away.
When I was finished, I grinned, pleased with myself. It was a list: I would just have Jake pick up the items that i needed... I stood up with the list and made my way to the door.
As I reached for the door a tiny voice stopped me in my tracks.

I jumped- and cursed myself as cold dark watercolor water spilled onto my pants.
I sighed and glared at the door. "Just wait a second- had a little accident!"
The voice on the other side of the door sounded exasperated. "Fine! Please hurry up- your new master is waiting..."
Crap. I almost forgot about that- today I would be leaving for the country side to work on commissions for my new customer... The voice behind the door belonged to my old master, Sandra. I liked Sandra- but she could be so dull sometimes. She always made me paint the most boring things- still lifes, boring landscapes, blablabla. But Sandra gave me a home- she fed me, provided me with materials and anything else I needed.
Young artists, particularly orphan artists like myself were hired by Masters for at least three years before being transferred to a new Master...
I sighed and began to pick up the fallen paintbrushes before straightening up. I was rea
Summer Is Everlasting GTI looked at Fleather and sighed. "I don't want you to come..."More Like This
Fleather bit her lip and scowled. "Soren," she started. "I'm 13! Can't you let me one just this once? I've gotta learn how to take care of myself too you know!"
I narrowed my eyes, and glared at the human settlement that lay about half smile away.
"Fleather, it's too dangerous! You could get killed! Or worse- captured!"
Fleather groaned and stood up and yawned. "Hah! Captured? That is totally worse than being killed!"
I rolled my eyes and wiped my sweaty forehead before looking up into my sisters pouty face.
"If you come you have to follow my lead- the ENTIRE time! Ok?"
Fleather beamed, pure excitement lighting her brown eyes.
"Really? Oh Soren would be awesome!!!"
I could not help but smile smugly. She looked up to me like I was her hero- I lapped up her admiration like it was Holy Water...
I hopped up and tightened my belt. "I need you to change into something darker- can you do that?"
Fleather nodded and clapped he

Around me was murky darkness. A fuzzy almost-blackness.
Shapes began moving by me, in my previously silent world. Muffled sounds tripped their way through the shapes. It was nothing specific .nothing describable.
The world around me, I suppose that is what it was, began to solidify. My thoughts were pulled from a peaceful reverie that debated about nothingness. I had been dreaming, perhaps? Now was the feeling that I was coming back into my body; that snap back to consciousness once you begin to move your limbs after a nap.
Opening my bleary eyes, I began to look around. This didn't feel like my bed .I think that is where I fell asleep. The surface beneath me was hard and cold, and the wall behind me extended upwards, almost indefinitely. The alien environment began to make me feel anxious the more alert I became
There were oddly shaped buildings in front of me and their shape looked vaguely familiar. I searched for the answer in my mind while
