Lying face-up, his broken back cushioned by the pilot seat, Ratchet stared up through Aphelion's windshield at this planet's strange sky. Tordano had only recently been discovered by galactic surveyors, and never fully explored, due to its hostile environment and lack of breathable air. What was he thinking; why had had he come in the first place?
Because it had been a beautiful, promising, sunshine-filled morning, that's why. Because he had not woken up with a bad feeling about the day, no premonition of impending doom. There had been nothing to make him think twice about bringing Clank on his half-baked sightseeing expedition. There had been no reason why he should worry about flying so close among the craggy blue mountains - and no time to react when a boulder tumbled away from the mountain and slammed into the ship. Now, one flat spin, crash landing, and broken back later, Ratchet was still dizzy from the unexpectedness of the whole a
