WINDGATE STABLES PRIMARY SHOW CIRCUIT 2014
WGSPSC shows are a series of shows hosted by Windgate-Stables and qannekke from June to September. A show will run every two weeks, and there will be multiple classes to enter.
Shows will usually be Hunter Jumper, however may include Dressage, Cross Country, and Three Day Eventing or Horse Trials.

This is an HARPG Mini Show that will be run every two weeks.

CLASS INFORMATION
  • You are allowed to enter as many classes as you like with as many horses as you like. However, the same horse cannot enter a class more than once.
  • All entries will be partially effort based judging, and partially RNG judged - making it fair for everyone!
  • Each entry is awarded up to 10 points for effort.
  • Each entry is also awarded up to 10 points in RNG.
  • The more you put into your entry, the more effort points you will receive.
  • Classes run every two weeks. Different classes may be open on different weeks - make sure you refer to the show schedule to see which classes are open!
  • Classes will run even without being filled. If you are the only person in a class, congratulations - you win!

RULES
  • Photo backgrounds are allowed, backgrounds are not required.
  • Riders and handlers do not have to be shown.
  • Tracing is prohibited, and will result in disqualification.
  • Entries must be at least a colored headshot.
  • Horses can be realistic or fantasy breeds. However, physical mutations that give the horse an advantage in classes (ie. having Pegasus wings in a Jumper class) are not allowed. Any entry attempting to use this to an advantage will be disqualified, as I cannot judge it.
  • Horses must be at least three years of age to enter Showmanship division (liberty and halter classes), and at least five years of age to enter any other class. Riders must be at least 13 years of age, and must be at least 18 years of age to enter Cross Country, Horse Trials, and Jumper divisions.

DIVISION CHAMPION STANDINGS AND PRIZES
  • Individual classes do not offer prizes, however prizes and titles will be awarded to those who are champions in their division.
  • Division Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded to the highest scoring entrants who participate in all classes in their division.
  • Entrants must participate in all classes in the division during the same class running (ie. participating in both Liberty and Halter during the Week 3 show).
  • The horse must be the same horse, entered with the same rider, by the same artist (ie. Windgate's Otachi 5463 ridden by Ben Wakefield with art by qannekke - all of this must stay the same for all classes entered).
  • Scores for classes will be combined (ie. recieving 17 points in Liberty and 11 points in Halter will give a total combined score of 28 during that show). Division Champion rankings depend on points accumulated, not class placings - you can still place 6th in a class and be eligible to win Division Champion!
  • Score placings for different shows will not carry over for Division rankings (ie. your Week 2 combined score will have no effect on your Week 3 combined score).
  • Division Champion prizes will be announced at the beginning of each show.

BEST IN SHOW STANDINGS AND PRIZES
  • Individual classes do not offer prizes, however prizes and titles will be awarded to those who are overall show champions.
  • Best In Show and Judge's Choice will be awarded to the two highest scoring horses of the show week.
  • The horse must be entered in at least two classes in the same show to qualify for Best In Show rankings (ie. participating in both Liberty and Halter during the Week 3 show).
  • The horse does not need to be ridden by the same rider, or have a single artist. (ie. Windgate's Otachi 5463 entered in Liberty with qannekke, while another artist entered Otachi in Halter).
  • The classes do not have to be in the same division (ie. one class can be in the Hunter division, while another can be in the Showmanship division).
  • Scores for classes will be combined (ie. recieving 17 points in Liberty and 11 points in Halter will give a total combined score of 28 during that show). Best In Show rankings depend on points accumulated, not class placings - you can still place 6th in a class and be eligible to win Best In Show!
  • Score placings for different shows will not carry over for Best In Show rankings (ie. your Week 2 combined score will have no effect on your Week 3 combined score).
  • Best In Show prizes will be announced at the beginning of each show.

Nordanner Mutation Starter List

Sat Sep 21, 2013, 9:45 PM
Welcome to what I'm pretty sure is the only up-to-date list of all of the starters!  Feel free to share with your friends
(please just no stealing. I'll hunt you down and stab you with a rusty spork :stare:)

DISCLAIMER:
Just because a horse is listed here DOES NOT MEAN the horse is open for breeding. ThatDenver has asked me to make a special mention that her horses are NOT open for breeding offers so do not ask. This list is only for personal reference for nordanner breeders and is NOT a list for you to go hit up the starters.

If this list is outdated in any fashion PLEASE let me know! I'd love to update it.

Old starters are in normal font
Group starters are italicized

So we're going to try to make a list.. whoo.

Valkari was raised by Darsis for eleven years in the Great Forest, not too far from Chorrol. As she grew older she was allowed to venture through the forest and one of her favorite past times was climbing high up into the trees to gaze out at the White-Gold Tower of the Imperial City. She also tried to glimpse the Throat of the World on clear days.

Darsis promised her that one day he would take her to the Imperial City, but I haven’t decided if he’s able to before she leaves for Skyrim

These are beautiful handmade runes - made from a dark cranberry felt , each rune has been hand embroidered with white, then a blank back has been hand sewn on.

They come with a medium sized bag that was hand crochet to resemble dragon scales. There is enough room in the bag with the runes inside to put a small book, healing crystals, animal totems or herbs ( or all 4, there is comfortable amount of space). The draw string on the bag was hand made, and is a 4 plait braid of red and black.

These will make a great gift for someone looking for more strength, health, vigor or lust in their readings, or their energy. Also a great gift for a Scorpio as their color is red.

This entire set is made up of various forms of acrylic ( accept the thread that was used to sew the front and back of the runes together, that is cotton). So it's also good for vegans or someone with allergies.

Otachi's dragon tack! I'd like to enter him in the Nordanner Dragon Hunt this year. I cheated a bit, I did a very simplified version of Otachi's colors, since I didn't want his pattern to be the focus of this.

After looking at the Nordanner dragon tack, I decided that in real combat, it wouldn't be very efficient - in fact, much of it would be somewhat useless. So I decided to make Otachi a somewhat 'revised' version of the Nordanner dragon tack, inspired partially by ancient Chinese war horse tack, and mostly by WWII military tack.
Weapons include standard military rifle, as well as a set of bow and arrows, and a shield. Pack on the back of the horse contains survival equipment, first aid, and additional ammo for both rifle and bow. Tack includes metal rings on the first girth, breastplate, and back leather piece, in case dragging things (other fallen riders and horses, canons, additional firearms, etc). Also has a metal breastplate to protect the horse's chest, boots to protect legs, and some decorations on the neck. Thinking that the tassles on the back of the horse could be replaced with other decorations, possibly used as some sort of 'kill count'.

I may further revise the tack, to include more armor and protection for the horse, but for now I like it how it is.

Props to anyone who gets the not-so-subtle reference in the tack ^U^;;

Double M Acres Presents our Inaugural

Spring Bareback Bonanza Show

Leave your saddles at home because we're rockin' the bareback butt and doing it with style! Join us for a day of fun and friendly competition and be prepared to see some amazing rides!

:icondoublemacres:

Pertinent Information

Start Date: February 7, 2014 – End Date: May 31, 2014
Location: We have rented a beautiful arboretum and garden to host our spring show. There are a few specific locations where each event is held so please refer to the individual class for more details.
Weather: The weather is expected to be beautiful with a high of 72°f. A bit brisk in the morning with a soft dew covering everything and a light fog so when the sun rises, everything has a golden glow to it. By 10am it will be cloudless and the sun will be warm but not oppressive. Really, we couldn't ask for a better day.

This is an all breed welcome show, including fantasy based horses. However, such horses can not use their powers to their advantage.

There is no pre-registration necessary. We would love it though if you commented on this journal if you have any interest in joining in on the fun so we have an idea of our competition size!

Rules and Regulations
:bulletblack: You do NOT have to be HARPG registered to show.
:bulletblack: You must do some sort of advertisement for this show, a poll, a journal, etc. Link in the artists comment of your entry please!
:bulletblack: Entries must be completely original and new for this show. No pre-used line arts, alterations of past work, etc. allowed.
:bulletblack: Background are necessary and highly encouraged to be a strong focus in your entry! No photographs please.
:bulletblack: No saddles allowed! Bridles/head gear is optional, you may ride your horses with just a neck rope if preferred or nothing at all.
:bulletblack: Riders may wear any preferred attire, helmets are optional but highly encouraged in the over-fences class!
:bulletblack: NO direct “silhouette” tracing. You may skeletal trace however if you must but proper accreditation of reference must be linked.
:bulletblack: At least ¾ of the horse must be shown in your entry.
:bulletblack: Horses can be entered in multiple different classes, though only once in each class. Riders can be entered for as many horses as they want to show.
:bulletblack: Horses must have current reference sheet linked in the entry's 'artist's comment'
:bulletblack: All horses must be a minimum of 4-years-old. Other age requirements maybe listed in class descriptions.
:bulletblack: All riders must be at least 16 years old.
:bulletblack: All entries should be added to the Bareback Bonanza folder found in the DoubleMAcres favorites in their correct class. If your entry is not listed there, it will not be judged. Double check your entry is there!
:bulletblack: Be courteous to other entrants and be patient! Thanks!

More rules can be added if necessary, please check back through out the show

Classes Offered

Lake Side *Dressage:
Horses and riders will navigate a basic dressage test with the various movements: walk (free/collected), trot (collected/medium/extended), canter (collected/extended), leg yield, simple or flying lead changes, and halt. Working on straight lines, diagonals, and large and smaller circles.
There are no higher-level movements included, such as: piaffe, passage, canter pirouettes, etc. This allows both traditional dressage horses to enter and horses that are not classically trained as a dressage mount. Western horses, jumpers, etc. are welcome and encouraged to join in!
The test will take place starting at 7am until mid morning. It will be located next to a small lake that opens up to a flat short-cut grassy area that is closed in by various flowers and trees in full bloom. You can see across the lake to more garden and a huge willow tree. There is no arena perimeter fencing, though there are ornate flower boxes that indicate the various dressage letters and are markers for where the arena dimensions are.

This class is judged 100% on artistic effort. For clarification: this does not equal the most photo-realistic entry! I will be looking for uniqueness, a well thought out composition, and playing with your entire image (aka incorporation of the setting). Stories will help your judging.

Tulip Match Race:
Two horses and riders, head-to-head, sprinting a quarter mile to the finish funneled between rows of multi-colored tulips. Who will end up crossing the finish line first?
This race will take place in the tulip field and will start after lunch. We have been able to clear out a few rows to make a track about 20ft wide that is well groomed grass turf for the safety of our horses and riders. The tulips change color through out the race, so you could be surrounded by a sea of red, pink, yellow, blue, almost any color imaginable for as far as the eye can see.

This class is designed to be a collaboration class. Find a friend to enter with and create one spectacular entry between the two of you showing off your horses and riders going head-to-head! This class will be judged by YOU! The entrants. When you put in an entry, you will be noted after the show has closed and asked to pick your 1st - 6th place winners (you will exclude yourself in all the placings). You will have 5 days to respond or you will have forfeited your right to judge. In the event of a tie it will be split by random number generator. For further information on this style of judging, please note me!

:new: If you're interested in joining the Tulip Match Race but don't have anyone specific that you want race/collab with, just comment on this journal and I'll stick you up here so people can contact you if they want to collab!

Confirmed Matchs!
Maara-G & BangGoesReality
Affyre & MorganLeslee

Sunflower Puissance:
Jump the sky, or at least some sunflowers and see who will come out on top (literally)! The standard puissance generally features a brick wall that rises round by round for the horses and riders to tackle. But, in the spirit of spring we have modified our puissance wall to mimic the appearance of a row of sunflowers since they are one of the tallest flowers out there!
Sunflower Puissance Fence by Jag6201

This is the final class of the day and will start in mid afternoon and depending on how many entries we have may run into the early evening. We are expecting a glorious sunset to round out the day. It will be located where the dressage test was held earlier in the day, however the flower-box markers will have been removed.

This class is judged by a point based system. It breaks down like so:
0-50 points based on artist effort (both visual and literary)
0-50 random points divvied out by the random number generator
5+ points per previous jumping image featuring the horse and rider pair. Please link these in the artists comment of the entry, if they are not linked, they will not be counted. Up to 20 points maybe gained with previous experience.

Prizes

:bulletblack: Individual Classes: 1st - 6th place will receive ribbons. All others will receive a participatory ribbon.
:bulletblack: Peoples Choice: ALL entries will be up for voting via poll for 24 hours, narrowing the field down until there is one entry left. (Groups of 5 entries per poll, groups will be decided by random number generator) Entry will receive a ornate peoples choice ribbon and a feature on DoubleMAcres page for one full month.
:bulletblack: Judges Choice: My personal favorite entry of the show. Entry will receive a custom full body painting of horse and rider with a secret judges choice ribbon plus extra.

Spring Bareback Bonanza Ribbons by Jag6201

If you would like to donate a prize, please note me!
We hope to see you at the show and proudly strut your bareback butt at the end of the day! If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know!

Thanks!

Judging

I guess this is the most important thing of all. I’m on my own, so excuse me if I’m late with judging. I’ll try to have everything around January (I’m going on Christmas holiday and I don’t know if I have WiFi there).

I won’t look at how good you are. I’m looking at the difference between your drawings. Did you develop a new style or did you do what you always do? Originality is the main thing. I want something different, something you don’t expect to see. And what about extra images? Did you draw them?

I can’t tell how I’m judging really, but this things are what I’m looking at.

The jumps will be between 1.20m and 1.50m (3'9" to 4'9"). Pay close attention to what type of jump each design is from the information in the artist's comments on the jump designs.

SETTING (BOTH)

The sides, boards, and window covers are hardwood paneling, and the ring has dark green support beams along the sides and ceilings. There is no seating directly inside the arena, spectators will watch from just outside the arena, and can watch over the boards lined up with the farm office and horse stalls.

The Prince of RRA has arrived!!
Wolfsbane's first born son!!

A1016 ~foal design by Vezria

Stables: Rivendell Riding Academy
Name: Auspice
Meaning: "A divine or prophetic token"
Barn name: Aussie
Breed: Pure Nordanner
Registrated: Yes
Gender: Stallion
Age: 2 years
Height: 16hh
Color: Smokey Grullo Agis
Genotype: Ee aa nCr nD nAgis
Markings: Antelope mask, 4 socks, 8 stripes on back
Training: Endurance
Tack: Blue
Body Type: Modern ~> fav.me/d64u5ch
Potions: Ram, in the form of Gemsbok horns

Quirks 1 Headstrong
Quirks 2 Alert and watchful at all times
Worst Fear/Spook Raelans (giant lions? Oh my!)
Herd Mentality: only mindful of his father, very aggressive around other horses, especially stallions, wary of mares.
Horse vs. Owner/Handler/Rider: although extremely intelligent, tends to be stubborn and unruly for handlers. He will do everything he can to get his way, but is not dangerous in his manners.
Favorite treat: barley

Personality: Like his father before him, Auspice has a certain ferocity about him. He's a lead stallion by birth and a natural born fighter.
Auspice tends to be a bit of a pain when handling. He will try to drag you all over the barn, refuse to be trailered and strike at other horses trying to greet him. It has nothing to do with lack of training. Just his desire to get whatever he wants and prove to everyone he's in charge.
Under saddle he's still quite unruly but loves a challenge. Endurance suites him well. He can stretch his legs and move freely.

History: Auspice was born to Zuri at Bearzoi's Stable. When he was 6months old, Auspice was weaned and brought to RRA to live and train alongside his sire.

Dog: Bearzoi's Liberty Coffee "Lottie"
Breed: Borzoi
Gender: female
Age: 6 months
Owner: Sunrise Valley Kennels
Handler: Mae Young
---
Story: The Borzoi is a giant breed, and at 6 months, Miss "Lottie" was taller than most full grown dogs! While a fairly mild mannered breed with people, we knew early training was going to be as key to her success as with any other breed. We had, of course, already started at home, but liked the puppy program hosted by the Kennel Club as a good way to finish. Due to my very busy schedule, I asked Mae if she would be willing to take Lottie through the training program for me. They had a great time. Lottie showed off her great leash manners for the judges by trotting along on a loose leash. (Gosh, I love watching her gait!) She sat on command, and then Mae put her on a down and told her "stay". Mae went out of sight for a minute, and came back to a patiently waiting Lottie. I was glad to get such a good report of my big girl on her first official steps to becoming an excellent member of society! (And glad someone took pictures for me so I could see her success! :) )

So after 2 years of owning Wolfsbane, I finally bred him and got this gorgeous colt! I am so happy to introduce this unique character to my stables. I hope to love him just as much as I love his daddy.

Mission-
ADLG has decided to answer the much need training-show need, and has committed to several ongoing classes. A unique feature of this training show is that you may, instead of trailering into ADLG, video yourself completing the class wherever you like and send it into ADLG for judging. Note that we are still expecting everyone to be on their very best behavior. ;p Sponsored by EquineRPG

Rules-
    NO reusing entries/lineart
You MUST upload entries separately (one entry per image)
You MAY enter more than 1 horse per class
You MAY NOT enter the same horse in the same run
    ALL breeds allowed
Classes runs approximately once a month if full
    Host may enter
Please include the class you're entering in your submission (ergo, when you comment on this page)

FAQ-
    Q: Why didn't I wiinnn?!?!?!
A: Hard to say- I try to keep things 'fair', but I definitely auto-5th-place certain things. Traditional work on lined paper, noticeable use of pre-made brushes (clouds, grass, etc.), etc. etc. It should also me noted that my personal pet peeve is messy lineart- even if your anatomy/perspective/whatever is amazing, I'm apt to not place it high if the lineart is jittery. I do love sketchy styles though. Should also be noted that I make it a point to favor newbie contestants over people who are mass-entering, given the mass-enterers have already placed well in a previous run.

Q: So you just judge by what you like basically? That's not fair >:C
A: I make a concerted effort to judge all entries fairly based on their gallery- and there's a bit of a rng element since I'll often flip a coin to choose between places. My own eye is drawn to creativity and cleanness over technical skill and flat realism, so I believe in the end that my own tastes are actually well suited to judging. But, now you know, so meh.

    Q: Can you add a _____ class?
A: Yes, actually- well, probably at anyrate. Just drop me a comment if there's a class you would like to be added, and we can see how it goes. :)

CLASSES: JUMPER, DRESSAGE, CROSS COUNTRY, SHOWMANSHIP
PRIZES: TO BE ANNOUNCED!

SEE BELOW FOR CLASS DETAILS AND ENTRY FORM!

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

:new: I'm going to try to start this back up again. I hadn't forgotten it, I just haven't gotten any entries for it, and thought, well maybe people don't want something like this. So yes, this is still open and running. Any entries I do get will be judged at thend of the week. Sunday-Friday and results Saturday.

Welcome back to Bribery's Haven!

It's been since last summer since Bribery's Haven has hosted an event. Now we have decided to open up our stables for weekly mini schooling shows. Yes, you heard right, weekly and mini. Unlike other people, I am quite often online and I will keep up with this. How this will work is for week one you will have from Sunday til Friday to get entries in. Then Saturday I will judge and it starts again on Sunday for week 2. The only prizes given will be ribbons for 1-3 place. I also decided to throw in another fun little factor. With each win you horse earns, you can move up a level. It's simply to show your horse improving and means nothing else. Plus, since it's a mini show, all you need is a headshot or a chibi, no shading required, slap on a color for a background if you want or nothing at all and call it done. As long as, ya know, you can actually tell what your horse is doing, haha. Or you can put as much effort into it as you please, though it doesn't get you a closer chance to winning. RNG based obviously.

Sounds pretty simple right? Since it's just starting everything starts out at level 1 events.

You do it boy;
Well, love, if I were to let you go;

Oh it's enough to feel better,
if I could.

.

Ben sighed, turning the folded map and catalog in his hands. The stable manager had, again, sent him to go buy a horse, and had forgotten to mention which one she wanted. Some kind of expensive import, he was sure. Although Ben doubted whether she would get her horse, seeing as he was quickly losing his ability to navigate the sale grounds as well as the various horses in paddocks.
Ben had travelled from Windgate in Scotland to Salzburg in Austria to pick up the horse, a two day drive at the best of times. Ben had managed it in three. Such is life.
Day four, the second day of the sale, dawned bright and clear on the grounds of the stable where the horses were to be sold. Many of the horses were being sold in auctions, as stable companions or lesson horses, while others were sold as expensive competition prospects and breeding horses that had already been proven as champions. Ben was hoping to get a look at a few of the older horses, he knew Windgate would eventually need more horses in order to expand their own herd. Foal sales had been going well during the summer, and many of their horses bred the year previously would soon start breeding or showing themselves.
Eventually getting fed up with the crumpled sale pamphlet, Ben decided to just start looking at horses to buy. His manager trusted him well enough to send him to Austria to get a horse and bring it back, if he saw a horse that they could use, he knew she would approve. Hopefully, anyway. Ben pulled up his jacket, pushed his glasses up further on his nose, and started moving through the crowds of people towards the more expensive horses. Coaches, riders, and owners alike stood propped up on fence posts, or just clumped into small groups. Many of the Europeans at the sale knew each other, meeting at various shows during the season, and now separating into groups by barn. Nearing the end of the season, tensions were high, and many of the riders were sick of each other, he supposed. Ben himself had been on the recieving end of many of those tensions last year, when he had been more actively competing with Otachi (and doing well to boot, he thought to himself).
Quietly steering away from a group of riders he recognized from his bout of active showing (no need to pay a visit to them, god help me if they notice I'm here), Ben found himself near a paddock of young horses. The horses had, apparently, been recently imported from... wherever. Ben stopped to watch them, as many of them, particularly the un-gelded colts, looked to be having a good time chasing each other around. A few, such as a dark cremello, a chestnut pintaloosa, and a gold champagne caught his eye. Some of the horses were strikingly coloured, making Ben wonder about their questionable pedigrees. You certainly didn't see much color variation in any pedigreed horses, Otachi's predominantly gold champagne offspring and grand-offspring serving as an example of that.
Snapping his focus back to the colts fighting in the open paddock, the gold champagne colt with lighter patches had started to kick out at a grey filly, who looked to be quite a bit smaller than him. The horse was large, probably around eighteen hands, but not with a heavy build. Thinking quietly, Ben decided to go get another catalogue. Bumming one off of a stranger, Ben ran a hand through his hair, flipping quietly through to look for the light colored horse.
Finally finding the horse near the end of the paper booklet, he started to read. Chimera... no pedigree... imported from... excellent potential, good training... athletic, a good jumper... carrier... "Normandy"...
In any case, the horse was a good competition prospect, as well as having some nice genetics. Frowning at the price, and mentally calculating how much money he had in his bank account (I'll be killed if I can't pay rent again this month,), Ben wrote down the horse's ID number, and started looking for the seller. Of course, Ben needed another Nord like he needed a hole in the head, but, hey, you can't have just one horse.

.

Who is this new horse, that poor Ben has decided he has to have?? We'll have to see!! ;0;
