Toon Boom vs. Flash (read if you plan to buy)now I'm not going to put in my opinions till the very end, because this depends on what type of animation you preferMore Like This
Before you blow $300-800 on a big animation program, you should know some of this stuff, it will help you decide
Let's begin with price:
Flash: $700-800 sales are uber rare
Toon Boom: (Studio) $300-350 (Animate) $700-800 (Pro) $1000 they do sales a lot
Flash has one Pro version. Toon Boom has Studio for hobbyists like me and probably you, Animate has nicer features, and Pro is used by pro animators/cartoon peeps (Pink Panther is animated in Toon Boom)
so you probably only want Studio, the version we'll be comparing with Flash.
Effects:
Flash: limited array, hard to find
Toon Boom: big bright icons with many different effects
Tweens:
Flash: Motion Tweens and Shape Tweens
Toon Boom: Motion Tweens and Camera panning/movement (camera is not on Flash)
Drawing:
Flash: overcorrects but smooth lines/vectors/w/e. Pencil tool small, brush has varying thickness no removing that, ch
