The Final NightOn this night, I lie here in my bed,
More Like This
Waiting for him to come, Not much to be said.
I feel nothing. No sorrow nor dread,
No smiles, no frowns, no tears to be shed.
The moon shines outside my window,
So white, so pure, so true.
Looking at it, I lean back on my pale blue pillow.
When will the time come, I have no clue.
Outside I hear a lonesome howl,
Echoing across the snowing plain.
I think, "Humans are equal to that of a fowl,
Life itself is everything's bane."
Out of the corner of my eye, I see a ashadow grow,
I stare at it. waiting, and lo behold!
He arrived at the promised time,
To take me away, leaving my body to die.
I lie down this paper and allow it to dry,
Looking out the window, I said, "Bye-bye."
He looked at me and seemed to grin for a while,
And only a second before he ended my life did I smile.

Are you ready, young one?
Ready to take off into the sun?
Then spread your wings and take flight,
Flap them and fly into the light.
You are a true dragon,
One who fights with teeth and talon.
Look below you, that is Man,
A flightless kind that lives on land.
Have no fear,
We're unreachable from up here.
Now, you must learn how to breathe fire,
A powerful element, uncontrolable when in ire.
Very good, you're doing it right,
Careful! You're flying too high now!
Come down to a lower height!
Now turn around, it's time to go back,
If you don't hurry, it is sleep you shall lack.
Before I stop, hear me one final time,
Before I end my little rhyme,
Listen well and take to heart,
Or you could be killed by a little dart,
For a true dragon to truly rise,
From now till the end of time must you be wise.<i>
