Come to think of it, why do we do that? When we see a gun aimed in our direction, why is our first instinct to stop? Why isn’t it something more sensible like running either away or toward it depending how courageous or downright foolish you feel. The person holding the gun would barely have enough time to react.
It’s funny the things you think of when you’re staring death in the face.
