Lost SheepThere once was a Sheppard, who loved His sheepMore Like This
He watched over them daily, for they were His to keep
Every rugged Ram and every single Ewe
Trusted His words, for they were always true.
With gentle eyes and a voice like silk,
He said "Stay here with your honey and milk;
Stray not far, and stay close to Me,
For beyond the gate, only danger there will be."
Then one day, one sheep went astray
For she thought it would be alright to play
Beyond the shielding gate, that kept them all secure
Danger on the other side? Why that was so obscure!
She leapt over fields, and grazed on the grass
Finding squirrels, birds, and even a cat to sass
But soon came a thought, one like biting frost
Every sight was new- the little ewe was lost!
Calling out in a voice, that sounded so scared
The forest echoed back, like it was hearing impaired.
Moments changed minutes, which then became hours
But all the ewe could see was a field full of flowers.
Desperate and beaten, the ewe tried to walk
Hoping that she could
Aphorism: Prayer as RevelationPrayer is not just communication with God, it is also a sort of self-reflectiona mirror that allows us to see, in a manner of speaking, the one who speaks to God. Between God and us lie our inmost thoughts. We need to reflect on our obsessions, our desires, and our struggles. Sometimes our zeal and our fervor become a greater spiritual poison than outside influences. Though prayer often times allows us to see enemies around us, we may be surprised to see the enemies withinif we listen to Godif we listen to ourselves.More Like This
The Role of Tradition: Its ImportanceExercises of tradition give expression to the mysteries of Faith and Scripture. At first you will see how these expressions are obvious at first. There is, however, an organic nature to traditionit advances, assimilates, and throws off. All the same it maintains a sort of unity and constancy throughout it all.More Like This
With this thought in mind, let us see what belief in something and being compelled to evangelize require:
1) We need to live what it says.
2) We need to understand why, how, and what we live and, likewise, that which we base our life off of (and this is a process). We need to understand a Christian life as much as we do Christian Scriptures. What does Scripture require? What does faith require?
3) A consensus from a community that this is a proper way of life.
4) A consensus by the community that this is a proper reading of the text.
5) A practical means of speaking about such a text and life didactically (i.e., can you teach these words and this life in a manner tha

To all Christians who are fans of something:
I came across this interesting blog-post/article while surfing the web:
Bear in mind that this is NOT an attack on sports fanatics (or any other fanatics for that matter). But the article does make for an interesting read and does make a pretty good point that is really not all-too-far from the truth in regards to how fandom is generally treated. Although the article is addressing fandom in sports teams, it can very well also be applied to all kinds of fandom elsewhere--the concept is relatively the same in the fanbase of anything out there you can think of. People certainly take fandom pretty far...too far if you ask me. And it can be a pretty scary thing when it does go too far. (Want proof? It'
THE WEAPON OF TRUTH Part 2 The Battle for TruthIsaiah 59:4-5 “No one calls for justice, nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; they conceive evil and bring forth iniquity. They hatch vipers' eggs and weave the spider's web; he who eats of their eggs dies, and from that which is crushed a viper breaks out.”More Like This
This Scripture speaks of what exactly is happening in todays world and how our lives can be affected by a culture in an era that speaks lies and trusts in empty words. The truth of the matter is that our lives have been affected by a culture that has been overwhelmed with lies and falsehood.
In the previous section I began talking about the Battle for Truth in our culture. I spoke concerning the battle for Truth in the church and how both the historical and the charismatic or more contemporary churches are under spiritual attack from the enemy concerning truth. The enemy knows that if he can get us to bite at his lies and falsehood just as he did with Eve in th

"Surely He scorns the scornful, but gives grace to the humble."
Search your motives as God searches it--for He knows the whole human heart. Whether you claim yourself to be righteous or wicked. Whether you say you are Christian or not.
Actions can say a lot, paired with what you say.
Make sure, Christians, that you truly live in the manner of Jesus, so people will not slander the faith because of your harmful deeds or words. And when people do slander you for the good you do, bless them, don't curse them.

A close dA buddy of mine lost someone very close to her last night/this morning to a brain tumor that they did have the time to remove. Please pray for the family and friends of the girl, for comfort and peace. I can't be sure this friend was a believer, but if so, what a relief that she's with Jesus now
Prayer request from Gameraider100
Pray for all who live the life of fame. Those who are popular in music and TV, they all become so numb to what's wrong, drugs etc. Also pray for those who are in fame, but have not become so succumbed to its evil, pray that they stay safe.
Prayer request from DevenDesign
I was just watching the news and it was describing California's drought situation. Some people over there are going bankrupt. We need to keep praying for moderate rain in the entire state of California. We also need to pray that the situation with the crops become better.

There's a saying that says that sometimes people don't reach out when they're hurting, that they cut themselves off, because they want to see who cares enough to tear down the walls and sweep them up into a hug that makes everything wrong just crumble away and makes everything right come from those arms. This is why people cut themselves off. They're challenging the world to show them they care. So what happens when nobody comes? When nobody can come? The despair closes in and you wonder why, God? Why when you say you love me, when you say you are my father and my husband and my lover and rock and protector and everything those arms represent, why don't you chase me?
He didn't stand at your window with a song, the warm night air ruffling his hair and his eyes directed up towards you, and only you.
He didn't write you a letter, telling you how much he loves you and how he can't stop thinking about you.
He didn't sweep you off your feet and carry you when you couldn't take another step.

on that dreadful day
On that day You showed me Grace
That someone like You
would be pierced through
for my sin, my filth and my disgrace
So I thank You God
with not only words
but with love and it falls short
of all You've done for me
how You set me free
You gave me love
and gave me hope
For You are worthy

You are my love

My Journey to FaithMy own journey to faith has been a long complex one.More Like This
Like most African Americans of the 30's, my parents were raised in the church, but neither
of them were really Christians. Furthermore my dad had a bitter experience in church when he
was young that forever soured him to religion and he had absolutely no interest in it.
Mom believed in God and enjoyed watching Robert Schuller's on TV, but her belief in God was mixed
with a hodgepodge of other things, including reincarnation. She was also a firm believer in 'to each his own.'
She thought that all paths led to God and that as long as one led a good life that was enough.
Despite this, God had His hand on me, because from the time I was little I instinctively sought Him.
Very early on I had a deep curiosity and hunger for spiritual things. I loved Bible stories and was
very curious about God. On the few occasions my mom or some other relative took me to visit a church
or Sunday school, I always felt a strange yearning. I wanted something
