Flipping a page in your book, you let out an annoyed breath of air. Summertime was not your favourite season. It was bad enough that the days were sweltering, but it was even worse when you had to go home to a forge, where the temperatures where akin to that of dragon fire.
Sweeping a lock of sweaty hair out of your eyes, you leaned back against the tree you were nestled in, grateful for the small amount of shade it provided you.
From your vantage point you could see the roof of your father's forge and the dark smoke that billowed out of the smokestacks. You groaned internally, it seemed like there was no place left on middle earth that was cool.
“You look like you're about to melt.” You jumped at the unexpected sentence, looking about for the owner of the voice. Below you a familiar face grinned up at you, dark eyes twinkling.
“Why aren't you in the forge Kili?” Closing your book, you carefully slipped from the branch you had been sitting on. His gr

You felt a familiar tingle travel up your spine and repressed the urge to shudder. Without turning around you knew why you felt this way, or rather, you knew who was making you feel this way. You peeked behind you, confirming the worst, he was here alone.
“He's here again.” one of the other bar maids muttered in a sing song tone, “Just sort of staring.”
You nodded curtly, keeping your attention on the mugs you were cleaning. She gave you a doubtful look, chewing absently on her lower lip before bustling off. You stayed where you were, not wanting to look behind you, knowing that when you did you would find yourself enraptured by pair of ice-blue eyes.
What was his name? Ah yes, Thorin. The blacksmith's would often boast very loudly of how well he worked in the forges, then turn around and laugh at how they had cheated the dwarf out of a good portion of his pay.
Ellie (the only bar maid you were friends with) slid over to you, tapping you roughly on

It was a lovely day. The sun was out shining on your (h/c) hair. You were out practicing shooting. You loved shooting arrows, and you must say you were quite good. You enjoyed the feeling of letting go of the arrow, watching it hit the target, you smiled widely. You were beginning to set up another one before you heard a voice behind you.
“I see your practicing” you turned your head around, looking directly into the prince’s eyes.
“Oh I…uh yeah just practicing” you smiled weakly. You loved his voice. It was warm and silky, you love to hear more.
He smiled back “Mind if I join you…my father is annoying me right now” he chuckled “I just want to let some steam out, act like an normal elf”
You were lost of words “I-I guess, sure why not” you smiled boldly “I know your father is under a lot of stress…I would be to if I was a king of a

Thranduil looked at you surprised, and sat up in his throne. "What do you mean, (y/n)?" He reached out to you, but you flinched away.
"I am your advisor," you whispered, "being with me only degrades you." You glanced up at the Elven King; he was deep in thought now.
You took this as your chance to leave, so, you quickly bowed and headed for the forest. You love Thranduil, that much is true, but he deserves better than a low Silvan elf.
Ignoring the strange looks you received, you quickly walked out the doors; your braids coming loose in the wind. You didn't care though. You let out soft sobs and wiped the tears from your cheeks.
"Melamin (my love,)" Thranduil whispered, gently spinning you around. Your (e/c) eyes were met with his piercing blue gaze. "You will go back in there, and stand by my side," he said, gently cupping your cheeks.
