Just a little something I made for the art group I belong to, The Luminarium, in light of our latest and greatest pack ever this image portrays our eventual rise to galactic domination, a future where we can quite happily go around and imprint planets with our giant logo using Ion Cannons for advertising purposes. Right delusions of grandeur aside, this took about 3 hours work, the planet, logo and background I already had lying around. The clouds circling the planet where originally hand painted then a texture was laid over them. The satellite/Ion Cannon was a photo which I painted over.
This is the end result of several weeks of work, mainly due to lack of computer time, it is a corner stone in my art as it is my first piece which isnt just a planet with stars and a nebula, and its hand painted using a wacom except for the planet surfaces and the sun which are done using the usual texture work and filters. My main inspiration for this image was Gary Tonge who is an amazing freehand digital painter.
I will also be making some more speed paintings and quick images showing different parts of the city from different perspectives.
So now this images is done I will start to do more matte paintings and freehand images like this one but I wont be abandoning my space scenes all together I will make some more soon.
Folie A Deux literally means a madness shared by two.
I think I manage to capture the theme.
It didn't make it into the pack because I couldn't submit it into the website due to some technical problems.
I know I should have mailed it to admin but I didn't thought about that then. Don't ask why. -.-"
I was asked my Dolce & Gabbana to do some illustrations for their new limited edition book to be released next year, this was my favourite image I worked on, it was a collaboration with my friend colin Lee25. Dolce & Gabbana is a pretty famous label from its renowned Italian fashion brand. The book is expected to be published by January 2007, will be printed in Italy, and it will be distributed worldwide.
Probably one of my favourite images ive worked on in this style, got to play with colour a lot - it will be a double page a4 spread, I hope you like it, more stuff coming soon

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This in-depth tutorial on vector illustration in a 3D-environment will equip you with the basic ideas and concepts to recreate the visual style of my illustration "Digital 3D-Abstract" -> [link]
Learn how to - Create vector shapes in both a 2D- and 3D-environment - Unleash your vectors into the third-dimension - Create appealing textures - Create and scatter a custom brush - Modify vectors with layer masks - Use shapes with alternating opacity to create nice effects - Texturize your vectors in 3D -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you'll enjoy this tutorial and can draw something helpful from it's contents !
P.S. The cover-illustration was originally inspired by iunewind's "Summer Cocktail", which you can check out here: [link] - he also has a tutorial on this topic (which I did not know when I wrote this one, if you use 3DSMax go check it out for further details [link] )
From Wikipedia: Parkour is a physical discipline inspired by human movement, focusing on uninterrupted, efficient forward motion over, under, around and through obstacles (both man-made and natural) in one's environment. Such movement may come in the form of running, jumping, climbing and other more complex techniques. The goal of parkour is to adapt one's movement to any given obstacle.
My brother loves parkour.
And I loved photographing him in action that day.
Full view to enjoy the complete exciting experience.
Apologies to those I have offended when naming this photo Parkour. I'm changing the title to avoid people flaming the mod that featured my DD, saying 'It's not parkour, it shouldn't be a DD'.
An idea i've had for a while, but never given much thought to. Was procrastinating for a while the other day so i did this. I've always liked the Galactic Empire in Star Wars, and the recruitment posters i've seen around the place for the Empire have also always intrigued me. Thought i would do some propaganda posters for some of the different organisations in Star Wars
Propaganda Poster No.1: The Galactic Empire - Help Them Build a Better Galaxy
**Edit -> Some people were commenting on how the writing was getting lost in all the white so i've changed it and improved it the way i had originally envisaged. Try and picture it stuck up outside the recruiting office in some backwater settlement on Tatooine lol** ** Further Edit -> Tweaked the texture because the whole thing felt a little too dark. Changed wording as well.
Surprise fanart for Fam. Figured I was doing too many computer stuff, and got worried I was losing it with the mechanical pencil stuff, so some more practice. Sorry about the legs, probablyshould'veusedaruler.*sheepish*

this is one of my latest projects. Cd cover, bakside illustration and booklet for the band jaga jazzist....school project. I am happy with the result even though there is some changes i would like to do.
Last summer I decided to keep an art journal, just to keep me busy. I always feel so unproductive over the summer, so it helped me to stay creative. I originally wanted it to be much longer--it only lasted for a month because I got lazy. It's pretty abstract and random. I blurred and blocked out some stuff that was dumb.

Sorry that there is no back button. The flash file took long enough to make as it is.
Alright guys, you've been asking for it so here it is, if you have any questions, note me!
You will need Photoshop to do this, unless you want to use your own flames, then you need Apophysis... I've provided 12 of them for you guys to work with, there yours so do with them as you wish...
TROUBLE WITH APOPHYSIS: For those who have no clue about this program, as I've said before, you set the Variation setting (top of the program) to "Spherical". Then you go through the list of flames until you see one that is of your liking, then click the "Green" play arrow, this will cycle the flame through a transformation, then click the "black" stop square when you see a shape you like. Then go to file and Export flame... save it at a high resolution. Nice looking flames can be tough to come accross, so just keep restarting the program until you find ones you like. The program is free, all you have to do is google it.
Note: the majority of my nebulae are thoroughly painted over in Photoshop, to give that extra burst of depth and shape, so if you are having trouble getting flames you like, try tweaking them over in PS with some brushes or possibly textures. Try anything and everything, it takes time, patience, and most of all, trial and error.
was doing a terraspace when i had this idea but i thought it would be imposible, i tried it anyway and here is the result hand/nebula painted with a tablet used my hand as a reference download for wallpaper pack sizes; 1600x1200 1280x960 1024x768
haha reminds me of the movie et edited the stars!
