I went through all my old jewelry a couple days ago, to get rid of some things that I either never wore or that had been sitting there broken for years (I have this habit of never throwing out ANY of my jewelry... because you never know when it could be the perfect piece for an outfit =] ). I decided to get creative and salvage the different bits and pieces and incorporate them into my tree of life pendants (hence, why I'm going to name them the "Vintage Collection" even though they're not quite old enough to be real
vintage lol). All of the pieces in this collection are special and will be completely one-of-a-kind, so please do not ask me to re-create one - I won't be able to =
The bail of this piece was actually part of a necklace that I maybe wore... once or twice - IF that. It was a beautiful piece, but it never seemed to match quite right with any of my clothing. The little butterflies were earrings that I never wore (although they're a little bit tarnished, I think it adds to the piece), and the little blue rhinestones were pieces of an ankle bracelet that no longer fits. The butterflies, rhinestones, and pendant are all glued securely to the tree, but still delicate. I used light citrine stones, silver-plated wire, and regular copper wire. All the wires are tucked neatly away to avoid the snagging of clothing. The pendant measures about 3 1/2 inches tall (including the bail) and 2 1/2 inches across at its widest area.
The Tree of Life symbolizes spiritual growth and wisdom, strength, protection, and connectedness. It is a healthy model that inspires the spirit and encourages hope in all hearts.
These are delicate, wire wrapped pendants that should be handled with care. Some of the stones, glass, or shells used to create the tree can break if handled roughly.
