Dumb not in the unintelligent sense. But relatively speaking, they couldn't claim to have the best chemistry. Gunnar did not always understand why the humans asked of him what they did, and that absence of understanding irritated him. It was usually the primary cause for his disobedience, moreso than out of purely-rebellious urges, and why they more often turned to Kopa during training sessions and performances to compensate for the Icelandic bull's lack of compliance.
Today was case in point. Following the midday show, the two orcas were given only a short moment's rest before being resummoned to the main stage.
