Hello, Corvo.Hello, Corvo.More Like This
I noticed you were having trouble-
I saw you stumbling in fear.
The Empress, cut to the bone,
Emily - no longer here.
I have pulled you here, Corvo.
Into my lair of confusion:
where space no longer resides,
and time is just an illusion.
My dear Corvo.
And so, bequeathed to you: a mask.
Given to you: a mark.
Taken from you: an empress.
Ripped from you: a family.
Plunged are you: into chaos.
The more you kill, the darker it becomes.
Rats about, skittering for crumbs.
Weepers stumble, gritty and gruesome.
Blood is spilled, spilled, spilled - now under the ever-fading sun.
You act non-lethally.
Sneaking from behind, never acting fatally.
Choking at the neck, acting as deceitfully.
Bodies are hidden, hidden, hidden - while you escape aerial.
Do you love her, Corvo?
She loves you.
I loved once: I was a fool.
Do you love her, Corvo?
A little girl, circled in innocence.
A father figure you stand: a model hence.

Hey guys! Long time no update and I’m sorry about that. Life was crazy for a little while with all the summer happenings but I should be good now. I just wanted to let you know what would be going on these next couple of weeks and what you can expect! On top of that I wanted to let you know that during the next week I'm going to be getting to my giant pile of messages to respond to! I'm really excited to say that I have... a good 40 deviations to post that are ALL art! I'm going to stagger them to post maybe 2 a day so it's not crazy overwhelming for my watchers. Still, I'm very excited to see where things are going. It's been a great last few days! I'm thinking of posting some daily sketch prompts, would anyone be interested in seeing that? Hope everyone is having a good summer!
Iron Clad: Across the Universe is in the home stretch. The last 16 or so chapters will be posted in the next 16 weeks, so prepare yourself for the fourth installment of Iron Clad: In the B
Mood Meme for WritersMore Like This
A while ago, a "mood meme" circulated the Internet where people would draw their characters with different expressions. I was thinking today that you could do the same thing, but with writing. That might sound too simple, or even impossible--what do you write? "She looked sad." "He felt happy." But it's a lot more complex than that, and the advice I'm about to show you completely changed my views on writing.
The first piece of advice comes from Chuck Palahniuk (author of Fight Club.) The entire quote is here, and it's the single best piece of writing advice I've ever read. I've heard the "show, don't tell" rule before, but this explains it an entirely new way, and opened my eyes to a lot of "telling" that I didn't even know what I was doing. After you read it, I guarantee that your writing will become clearer and more vivid.
