It worked; or rather, Kelly forgot what he had been saying in the first place. He had to blink several times for his best friend’s face to come into focus. The tops of Grey’s cheeks were stained pink and he swayed ever-so-slightly. Kelly’s nose had already become blind to the smell of liquor that evening, but Grey’s close proximity wafted a more concentrated scent his way.
