"Jean! My second favorite person!"
Jean laughed. "Hey, Eli. And what do you mean, second?"
Eli smiled. "No one's better than me." He winked. As Jacob watched this exchange, he was a bit amazed. It had been less than two weeks since Jean showed up in town, and she had already wormed her way into everyone's hearts- including his own. The two were in constant companionship, practically attached at the hip. All of his friends were drawn to her by some unseen force, and she was the only one who didn't realize it.
