Unto God alone...How great is the Lord our God?More Like This
Slow to anger and quick to forgive
How compassionate is He that He should cast His eyes on a lower being such as I
that He would comb through all the earth
to rescue a wretch like me!
Praise unto Him my soul
for in Him I find my victory
He is truth, way and life
for in Who else should I find refuge and rest?
In Him forever be praise and glory
for in Him I shall find my peace
in His flock I see I see
His mercy flow so endlessly
that He should ever count me worthy
to follow Him...
Rejoice then my soul for always
in times of hardship when I wander astray
when my heart betrays me into mourning
Yahweh God shall ever be faithful
He shall be my comfort
How great is the Lord
that He would delight in a sinner like me?
Even if my mother and father forsake me
the Lord shall never forsake me
Praise unto the Lord then my soul
that He should lay His hands into my being
and plant His seed...spirit
Now if I were to squander His graces
if I were to wander to far off lands
A canticle of redemptive loveOh my God when I think about Your wondrous deedsMore Like This
It is countless like the grains of the sands
which makes the face of the earth
How great are You,God
that You make the plains flourish
with green sprouts of spring and colours in the fields
which reminds me of things that come alive...which fills my soul with hope
all hope my God rests in You...
King of King
My soul blesses Your holy name
Consider the flowers
consider the trees
the butterflies and the birds which sings
who gathers straw to make its nest
who insignificant is transformed into a wondrous creature
who spreads her wings and spreads her arms
singing songs which goes like this....
God forever King
I sing You songs for all to hear and see
that they may know that You alone are God
that in You alone may all things find their call...
Sing a new song
to the Lord
Sing a new song with harp and lyre
sing with a heart full of praise and worship
sing with a heart of amazing awe
Sing a new song to the Lord
The one who satisfiesWe all striveMore Like This
We all want perfection
We go after the best
But for me I am not perfect
I may go after the things of this world at times
But none satisfy
But when I go after the one and only
I get this feeling
This unshakable feeling
Of warmth and comfort
Like he is hugging me
And will never leave me
God is a friend of mine
That is always there when I need him the most
God is the one who satisfies
You Are WorthyYou died for meMore Like This
on that dreadful day
On that day You showed me Grace
That someone like You
would be pierced through
for my sin, my filth and my disgrace
So I thank You God
with not only words
but with love and it falls short
of all You've done for me
how You set me free
You gave me love
and gave me hope
For You are worthy
Oh so worthy
For You are worthy
Oh so worthy
You are my love
my only hope
My Journey to FaithMy own journey to faith has been a long complex one.More Like This
Like most African Americans of the 30's, my parents were raised in the church, but neither
of them were really Christians. Furthermore my dad had a bitter experience in church when he
was young that forever soured him to religion and he had absolutely no interest in it.
Mom believed in God and enjoyed watching Robert Schuller's on TV, but her belief in God was mixed
with a hodgepodge of other things, including reincarnation. She was also a firm believer in 'to each his own.'
She thought that all paths led to God and that as long as one led a good life that was enough.
Despite this, God had His hand on me, because from the time I was little I instinctively sought Him.
Very early on I had a deep curiosity and hunger for spiritual things. I loved Bible stories and was
very curious about God. On the few occasions my mom or some other relative took me to visit a church
or Sunday school, I always felt a strange yearning. I wanted something

The Love of Jesus Christ (Poem)More Like This
It's because of love that I've found you
It's because of your love I've found truth
When sadness and strife filled my days
Your eternal love showed me the way
When I only knew regret and remorse
You sent messengers right to my door
When my heart turned love into hate
You turned my pain into hope and good faith
The world will know who is Jesus Christ
My life, my love I owe you my life
You can lighten even the darkest of nights
You are the reason that I continue to fight
Where would I have ended up if not for you
Lifeless with out purpose never knowing the truth
That we can aim higher then we'd ever thought to
as you reveal secrets of life that no one else knew
Just raise up your hands and let Jesus come through
He'll cleanse, straighten, and create a new you
Just praise and worship all he is and all he can do
Then run and tell others how Jesus saved you!

Clear Blue WaterI slowly step into the elegant tub, warmth and cleanliness overcoming my body…More Like This
How often do I allow love to take over?
As I float in the spa of placidity, the soap of purification purges me of my filth and muck,
The grace wrenches out my sins and regrets with an iron gauntlet.
Suddenly, I seek to arise from a pool full of my fears and failures, but my ground is lost.
There is no bottom, no end to my panic and chance to breathe.
The water grows icy and dark around me, a place of despair and no light.
Suddenly, I see a glimmer of color, a bright thing in a void, a vacuum of black.
I chase after that color upward and find that it is a crimson fish, guiding me to waters where
light seeps through, giving warmth and the color of sapphires.
Finally, I have arrived to the clear blue water,
my breath has left me, but…
I can breathe here.
What I NeededHave you ever wanted something, but instead of that, you got what you later realized you needed? It’s funny how life works that way. From what I’ve learned, getting what you want isn’t always what’s best for you at the time. God knows what’s best for us; He knows what’s needed the most and when that need is greatest. I’m reminded of my Spring Term in college when I think about this…More Like This
It was excruciating. The workload from my classes was intense. And with my wrist pain—and newly developed elbow pain—my limits were pushed further to the edge. The classes I had were my only available options. Because the Geology and Economics classes were introductory for general requirements, I thought things were going to be pretty easy. I was wrong. They crammed all the general information into students’ brains within a 10-week period. The assignments had more online work than last year, which made my problems worse.

At HandAnd those were the easy years,More Like This
When freedom was won;
And none knew the cost
With which it had come.
For centuries past,
We had laid down our lives;
How foolish to think
That the world had arrived.
Our souls were all lost
In such fictional lands,
Our fancies were taken
With each passing wind.
Then came the day
When the floor fell through;
Our familiar world gone,
No one knew what to do.
The stagnant shadows
Between wrong and right,
Now swiftly divided
To darkness or light.
Calling all warriors
Wishing to stand,
Calling all saints...
Our time is at hand.
Trust FallPerched upon a precipiceMore Like This
The wind a lonely call
I don't know how to manage this -
This swift and blind trust fall.
"Child," I hear His voice somehow,
Full of tender care;
"Let go of your worry now,
You know I will be there."
A hot tear rolls, I shake my head,
My knees are shaking too;
Can't fight the overwhelming dread...
Oh, help me trust in You.
I set my jaw, I shut my eyes
And throw my body back,
Cringing at the swarming lies
And all the faith I lack.
The world is flying all around
Where is my mighty God?
Would He just let me hit the ground,
Lie broken on the sod?
A sudden scream my final plea
For aid of any kind,
"I thought that You had hold of me!"
Was it all in my mind?
"Child!" I hear a smiling voice
And look up in alarm,
At once my heart turns to rejoice,
I'm falling in His arms.
My fear is giving way somehow,
And gone each filthy lie;
And we're not even falling now -
We're soaring through the sky.
