I'm back from my 4 day trip to Dubai with just my husband, celebrating 21 years wedding anniversary. He says it's 23 years but that's because he's counting with Islamic Hijri calendar which is lunar and therefore shorter. I don't use it because it ages me about 3 years and who needs that?!
anyway, 4 days or 4 weeks, the flying part is always exhausting. I hate unpacking. Thankfully I didn't buy much, just some jewelry - I'm addicted to jewelry. But I took lots and lots of photos. It's going to take a while to get through them though
but I'll share - Dubai is spectacular. I think it's probably the best Middle Eastern country in the world in terms of peace, beauty, fun, cleanliness, order and modernity. But a lot of Western countries are much prettier and more organized and more peaceful. Living is Dubai is much cheaper though. The weather, for me, is too hot, just like Jeddah. But some people like to be broiled red and peel hahahahaha!

When Things Go WrongMore Like This
During my latest trip to New York City, for the sole purpose of shooting street, I had one of the most unpleasant experiences ever, shooting strangers in the streets. Let me begin by briefly describing street photography, tentatively describing my attraction to it, and why I think it is an important and valuable artistic outlet.
Street photography is difficult to define precisely but it is about photographically capturing mundane every-day life events about people in a way that triggers an emotional response in the viewer. Street photography actually has a long history and was around long before a descriptive label was created. I personally have been involved in photography since a young age (my father sold photography equipment from his optometry shop back in Switzerland) but never found a genre that truly inspired me until relatively recently when I discovered street photography.
