The Only Exception
'When I was younger
I saw my daddy cry
And curse at the wind
He broke his own heart
And I watched
As he tried to reassemble it'
A young 5 year old Andy observed his father with curious eyes, as he turned his back after saying goodnight. He had been a wreck for a week ever since his mom had left. But Andy didn't know where she went, or when she'd come back. Or that she never would come back. "Daddy?" he asked in a small voice. His dad turned, his eyes red and puffy and voice hoarse. "Yes, Andy?"
"Whens Mommy gonna come back?" he asked innocently, confused as to where she had gone. His dad sighed sadly and shook his head.
"I don't know..." He said before closing the door, leaving Andy alone to his thoughts. Thoughts like: 'Where did mommy go? Why did she leave? And for how long? Who will make me my dinner every night and pack my lunches for school? Who will give me g

"Why not? There's nobody around." he replies, gazing into my eyes, "Just trust me, ok?" I hesitate, then slowly nod,
He smiles at me and is about to lean in to kiss me when laughter sounds from the end of the walkway, "And what's this?" a voice questions. I turn my head to see one of the many assholes from my school that bully me along with his "friends".
Ash let's go of my hand to stand between me and the group of guys, staring them down menacingly. But the guy, I think his name is Sam, doesn't notice and looks over at me. "Gonna give him a kiss?" he asks tauntingly, puckering his lips at me. I turn and quickly start walking away.

Chapter 4: So, This Is Love?
“You guys are late!” John yelled at me and Ash when we showed up to the bus.
“Sorry John. It’s our anniversary and we had to stop for doughnuts.” Ash laughed opening the box and offering him one. He took two and went to the front of the bus so we could start moving.
“Hey! There’s the happy couple!” CC said getting up from his spot at our small kitchen table and running up to me and Ash. “Happy Anniversary you two.” He smiled hugging us tight. How did CC remember, and I didn’t? Holy shit I’m terrible.
"Thanks Chuppy." I kissed his cheek and smiled at him.
"We've got a surprise for you two." Jake smiled standing from his spot on the couch. Jinxx came up behind Ash and covered his eyes while CC covered mine. They led us to what I figured was the back of the bus.
"OK ready?" Jake asked. "On 3. 1. 2. 3!" They let go of our eyes. We were in the back room of our tour bus, but it was different.

Today was Saturday which meant that there was no school and I could spend the whole day with Ashley. I jumped out of bed faster than usual; I rushed in the shower, not really paying attention to what I was doing. I dried my hair, and brushed my teeth as fast as I could, but still making sure it was done properly and moved onto clothes. I opened the wardrobe and looked at my clothes. Nothing in there looked like something that Ashley would wear. I sighed. It was crazy, I only met him yesterday but I wanted him to like me so badly; he was so fun to be around, nothing like my friends from school. I wanted to make sure I was good enough for him. I quickly pulled a plain white shirt over my head, buttoned up the gray jeans and made my way to the kitchen. I remembered to put some money in my pocket before I left the room.
‘Hello Jeremy, did you sleep well?’ My mother asked and handed me a plate with buttered toast on it.
‘I did’ I smiled awkwardly and poured some oran

"Poor girl." I heard them say. "She'll never survive this one."
I laid with my face towards the ceiling on the cold examination table, listening to them discuss my fate. I felt something breaking in my chest and something burning inside my throat. A small tear slipped down my cheek.
"Doctor! Look at this!" Shrieked my mother, "Something is coming out of her eye."
The doctor rushed over to me and wiped the tear from my cheek. He touched the top of my head as he whispered, "I am so sorry." And then he turned to my mother. "It's a tear. It means that she is sad."
"Sad?" My mother asked inquisitively.
"It's one of her emotions. This doesn't attack the same way that normal diseases do, there are all sorts of different symptoms. Right now, she is sad and the only way that I know how to explain it is that she is feeling down."
"What do you mean by down?"
"Her emotions can best be described as ones that are upwhen she is feeling good, and

She sits in the corner, with another of her headaches, closing her unwashed eyes and praying for sleep.
When a man's voice calls to her from outside, she jumps.
No one speaks to her.
She is one hundred feet from the ground and no one can see her face.
Heart quickening - a newborn sparrow that must learn to fly or else succumb to a hungry mouth - she struggles with her locked bones to stand and run to the window. She only moves slowly, however desperate she is, her wasted muscles threatening to fold. Her fragile fingers with their grey, unfiled nails fight with the stone sill to gain purchase and she sways, a stricken willow planted in her own filth.
"Let down your hair," he says.
Why won't he leave her alone? Why won't he go from here?! But still she mechanically heaves her co

When I got to my room, all was quiet. I edged past the door and crept past the sleeping forms of Sammi, who’d moved to our room regardless of what the council had decided, and Alice. Sammi muttered something in her sleep and shifted where she lay; I froze, but she didn’t stir.
My breathing felt too loud in the silence of the room. Every sound I made seemed to crash off the walls as I fumbled through the box of clothes I’d acquired, searching for my jeans and jacket.
I was just pulling on my t-shirt when Alice said, from behind me, “Going somewhere?”
I started. Clearly I hadn’t been moving as silently as I’d thought. Turning around, I saw her silhouette sitting up in her bed. It was too dark in here to see her face but I coul
Love And Betrayal - Andley - Ch.36The doctor returned what seemed like hours later, with the paper work. "These are instructions, on what diet he is supposed to have. He will have to be on an all liquid diet, and medication must be crushed and mixed with a light liquid such as water or diluted juice". "Okay we can read" Ash said, as he swiftly took the papers from the doctor's hand."Good luck" The doctor said, saluted, and then exited the tiny room. 'Here's the form you must sign to be released Andy. Do you need help with reading or signing?" Ash said as he looked me over. He seemed like he was going to cry again.I could see the emotional pain, was starting to engulf his handsome face, yet again. Ashley please don't cry again. He had no idea how much each tear killed me inside. Anymore pain, and I swear my decrepit heart, would stop. I nodded my head vertically, to let him know I could at least sign the papers, on my own. He laid the papers down on a hospital table that had wheels and wheeled the wobbly table over to mMore Like This
