In light of my 100th deviation, I thought I'd upload a few pictures of what I saw at a nearby lake shortly after hurricane Irene hit New Jersey.

Somewhere in Canada. This might be Moraine Lake, but I'm not entirely sure.

Taken on a long road trip through Canada and the US. I believe this was in Canada in or near Banff.

After awaking to clear skies in the below freezing darkness of the morning, we drove to our sunrise location in hopes for something dramatic to happen. As we arrived at our spot, we noticed a large "fog" bank that appeared to be creeping closer towards us. As we waited and waited and watched the glow of pre sunrise begin to appear at the opposite horizon, we decided to step outside and give it a look to see if was worth our time. As soon as we close the doors, it began snowing briefly yet consistently. It was still about 30 minutes before sunrise and we saw the cloud begin to clear from the west and unveil the canyon. This was a gift, as the pre sunrise earth shadow gave a beautiful display over the freshly dusted canyon. However, once the sun rose, that snow cloud lit up in a beautiful display of light over the desert view watch tower and palisades of the desert (the cliffs closest to the left). It was a magical morning, and well worth trudging through the deep snow drifts in the balmy -9 and lower temps. While the foreground may lack for some, I think it perfectly portrays the feeling of being a desolate and unforgiving landscape, yet draped in beautiful white snow.

The artist hard at work, drawing a Big, Famous Cat. Also loves drawing cat-related anime. Pppffft to anyone who says it's "not art" to do so.

EDIT The Artist, Kikyo Kilala (aka KiKi)
Born 5/1/06, died today of cancer 10/10/07.
This photo shows her at work on her final piece.
Sadly, now her work will be eminently more collectible.

Miss you, Keek.

Watch guilty sanity fade,
and innocent insanity corrupt,
and makes one more soul afraid,
and what does it take,
to make a rainbow fade...?
To make thunderstorms reign,
and every cut, a long road to sleep,
and red to seep,
through and stain...

Escape a prison only seen,
in lovely dreams,
until you see,
you barely broken the chains...

Blood is multicolored,
and the rainbows are red,
as she slowly becomes dead
Do not let her sleep,
do not let her weep,
for with every dream,
blurred and faded ideas of happiness consume
For there are days where she doesn't think of you,
but dreams of her sick truth...

Watch Candyland's candy canes and licorice,
choke another neck...
And make one more knife come down,
and make another crying sound,
until you've found,
the body on the ground...
See this sick tragedy,
that you'll only see,
under the sheet,
where she forever lies happy...

Blood is multicolored,
and the rainbows are red,
as she slowly becomes dead
Do not let her sleep,
do not let her weep,
for with every dream,
blurred and faded ideas of happiness consume
For there are days where she doesn't think of you,
but dreams of her sick truth...

She sees beauty,
in where she is gone...
Why does she deserve this, what did she do wrong...?
Soulless, walking through these halls,
to her funeral,
someday you will join her...

Blood comes in many colors,
and she starts with red,
wait, she might not be dead...
Though she weeps,
do let her sleep,
for with each deathly dream,
though she is unloved,

...she still loves....
This is a song I wrote a few days ago. I don't know where it came from, and I guess it's just written for all the emotions I've had before, and putting them into one song. I guess that's why I didn't cry during writing this, because I'd already went through all the frustration before getting it down on paper. But I liked how this turned out, and how the lyrics practically make no sense really. Anyway, hope you guys like this one...<3

It's interesting that I finally finished this just in time for John's deathiversary tomorrow. Seven years already. :/

I still don't have a scanner or a proper set-up to take good photos of drawings. This looks a lot better in person, and I can't wait until I'm able to get a better representation of this on dA.

Various pencils on copy paper; photo reference: here.

There's a good story behind the title: not only it is a good title itself, but I totally forgot to upload it. I regret it, because this one is a gem! By the way, I'm going to start an experiment. Someone told me that if I upload the photo to as many groups as I can, I can get... how do I say it? Popular. So, I'm going to do it and see for the results.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Darla's Divine Horror Show"

Darla always made a circus of herself. But she smelled nice and was an expert on haute taxidermy.
Darla also never slept.

"I must not sleep
for while I'm asleep I'm ninety
and think I'm dying.
Death rattles in my throat
like a marble.
I wear tubes like earrings.
I lie as still as a bar of iron.
You can stick a needle
through my kneecap and I won't flinch.
I'm all shot up with Novocain.
This trance girl
is yours to do with."

~ Anne Sexton

Underneath London lies a vast network of sewers, drains and lost rivers that have long been channelled underground.

A constantly active system that everyone in the capital uses yet hardly anyone gives a thought to, it lies waiting for those who seek its secrets.

London, 2013.
