Anyway, these guys are sort of like sand ninjas that have been training in the harshest environment in the known universe, making them the most deadly warriors on Arrakis. In the first three books, these guys wreck everything. Their Krys knives can't be sheathed once drawn unless they are coated with blood, and they don't leave their dead behind in order to preserve the water of their bodies. unadulterated bad-asses.

I figured that they would need protective sleeves for their arms and legs more than regular stillsuits- not for fight protection, but just from regular climbing and stumbling over rocks and sand and riding sandworms in their spare time since Fedaykin are so active. They wear inscribed clothing since they are raised in a very religious culture (much like muslim and christian warriors used to) as protection or blessing, and the round water counter-like jewelry. Fremen gotta 'frem yo.

Dune art! I <3 Dune. This is a Fremen girl, complete with MAKER HOOKZ.

reverting back to my oldschool line&color technique. it still needs work so give me any critiques/comments you feel could push it.

Basically I want it to have a very european comic sort of feel to it, but I borrowed the compositional elements from japanese prints.

St. Alia Atreides at age 17. I imagine somewhere between Children and Messiah when she is beginning to adopt her role as a religious figure among the Fremen.

I wanted it to be a sort of classic portraiture of her, which I rendered first, and then I later thought it would be cool to frame her with a window shaped like a rising sandworm.

If you're wondering why she is so colorful, it is because my readings of Herbert's Dune has always used color very symbolically and very vividly to describe clothes.

2012 Commission

Complex commission for =Zaraun-Shyntrak of Bucephalus.
Bucephalus is a somewhat evil friesian character. This is him in full rage - his feathers, mane, tail, and eye start to become fire, and he snorts fire as well. His skin also starts to crack, and you can see lava flowing beneath.
This was incredibly fun, but incredibly tedious, to make. This file became so large, it took for-ever to save every time.
I spent a lot of time and energy into this.
I have one more thing to say: No. More. Fire. For a very long time. Enjoy!

A long project started early this winter... Got to submit it finally!!!
I am happy with the final result; the curves adjustment recently added in MURO helped me a great deal to boost the colors of this piece.

This is related to a scene from Frank Herbert's Dune, where the Duke Leto, his son Paul, Liet-Kynes and others inspect the scene of spice harvesting factory. The vibrations of the machinery *always* attract the giant sandworms, it is said...

But in order to escape, there is always supposed to be a "carryall" transport ship on sight, ready to lift the factory out of reach from the furious behemoth, jealous of its territory.

This time, though, the carryall has simply disappeared, certainly sabotaged by the rival Harkonnens. So Duke Leto Atreides takes on his shoulder the heroic rescue of the spice workers, by ordering the landing of the "ornithopters", including his. Once they lift off, the worm emerges and engulf in one shot the factory.

Shai-Hulud is the name of the sandworm given by the Fremen, the people of Arrakis (Dune).

Just trying to get back into drawing with something simple.

Again, another tribute to Dune, and to satisfy ny predeliction for Fremen, Sandworms, Shai Hulud, legends; all the romantic sting of the original Dune trilogy (the 1st 3 Frank Herbert ones).
Maybe I'll get around to doing more. All practice, you understand. 90mins i think.

Just an attempt of airbrushing, I usually don't paint that way, cos I like more cartoon-anime style, with lines and stuff...

but I want give it a try to draw a Fremen in Arrakis.

kind of a afternoon or something like that, and you can see both moons of arrakis, the important one is the red, with the muad'dib form shadow inside

the fremen is calling Shai-Hulud, that's why the Fremen has his maker hooks, and the thumber is somewhere far in the sand...

I'm not happy how the sand turns out, but, I need more practice with this time of painting xD...

Another original character I've been working on. The armor was inspired a bit by some concept art I found on Morrigan, a character from Dragon Age: Origins. More work on this character coming soon, maybe some action scenes or something, dunno.
