A frequent visitor and often the only feeding hummingbird around. He spent more time chasing the other hummers away... and even if other types of birds got to close to HIS supplies of nectar he would pursue them through the trees... terrorizing them all... from chickadees to woodpeckers... a VERY tough bird!
Nice to find these during the day as they like to hide. Taken in Malaysia.
Quote from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dulitico… Duliticola is a genus of beetles of the family Lycidae. It is named after Mount Dulit in Borneo. The females stay in the larval form and are about 40–80 mm in length. They have a flat dark body with large scales over the head, resembling trilobites, hence the informal names "Trilobite beetle", "Trilobite larva" or "Sumatran Trilobite larva". The males are much smaller, 8–9 mm, with a beetle-like appearance. Most are found in tropical rainforests, notably in India and South-east Asia.
