I hate that sound. It means I've failed to protect him. There's nothing quite so frustrating for me as not being able to comfort my young master.
It's still a little strange to me, to be thinking like this. But young master screams again, and I can't think or care about anything else.
It takes me less than half a minute to get to him. The mark on my hand burns and hums as I throw the door open.
My heart drops into my stomach at the sight of my young master. His clothes are soaked through, and he smells of some odd chemical I can't place off the top of my head. I almost can't tell if he's breathing or not.
I don't really notice my legs moving. All I can think is that I have to get to him, I have to comfort him, I have to know he's all right.
I'm not prepared for his reaction.

Sebastian draws the curtains back. Ciel sighs and sits up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
