First piece of 2014, I will try and make this a more productive year for sure.
I focused mostly on mood, action and keeping to a more limited color palette.

NORWAY 2013
My trip to Norway in 2013 led me from the Lysefjord in the south to the Sunnmøre Alps near Ålesund and finally to the islands of Lofoten and Senja in the north. During the nearly 5 weeks trip I got many good opportunities to photograph the incredible scenery in stunning light. During some hikes in lesser known area, I tried to find a few new scenes. I hope you enjoy the results!

This has to be my best image so far.  It's been a really tough couple of weeks for me and I needed to unleash myself.  I went through a couple of different elements in the composition while I was painting it, but ultimately settled on this one.

For my first real job as a concept artist, im finally trying to learn how to photobash to speed up my workflow when painting. Still I'm not a huge fan of the photo look, so I try to keep it minimal, but i love the texture that photos give in some areas. Will experiment with this in the future

I tried to give a go at photobashing. Went for the classic "asian cyberpunk city at night in the rain" thing. It turned out to be completely out of the comfort zone for me, I struggled a lot, but there you go. I'm not 100% happy with the result though...

Annie Mei showing courage even in the face of danger!  I'm really proud of this illustration, particularly of Annie's suit (specifically of the forearms!)

As a part two of sorts to show my thanks to everyone for 50k watchers and the continued support, I made this image available for download as a wallpaper!

So you see this is what can happen(i.e. go wrong:laughing:) if you're drawing Disney characters and listening to Sir Mixalot. :icongrin--plz:

And just like Tink,[link] I think this "Big-Arsed" version of Ariel turned out fun/cool/entertaining none the less, and really that's the whole point of comics

Digitally Painted -with lines by me and absolutely AMAZING Digital Paints once agian by Andrew Hibner, AKA "Achibner" on DeviantART :highfive: [link]

Very happy with how this one turned out, and I'm glad to finally be able to share it on DA. It might be odd but the rock is like one of my favorite aspects of this piece, as well as the scales and toned points on her back. Andrew really did an incredible job once again of blending such drastically different styles together.
If you get a chance make sure to stop by his DA gallery. It's filled with tons of beautiful work.:w00t:

Had to do a lot of re-tweaking with the line art before starting.(sill need to update the line-art of this in my DA gallery with the fixed anatomy.) And a ton of adjustments on light-sources and hues/saturation, but the final result was great.

I hope you all enjoy this big arse:eyepopping:and most likely not safe for work version of Ariel as much as I do.
:icongrin--plz:
