This past month has been an incredibly soul-searching time, one that has been occasionally painful, but mostly full of joy. I can't really explain what happened, other than working on "Bye Bye Birdie" was a really beautiful spiritual epiphany and I am doing much better now than I was a month ago. I have wonderful new friends, I am open to new things and having fun, and I ended a relationship of four years because I woke up and realized neither of us were happy or wanted the same things. My anger about things has waned greatly.
Lessons I learned:
Do what makes you happy and you will be rewarded.
Use those rewards positively.
Fear is poisonous. Awe is beautiful.
Engage with others.
Talk with your friends.
If something is a negative influence on you, shed it.
It's really going to be okay.
How to Win Friends and Influence PeopleI recently read “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie, and I totally recommend it to anyone who has to deal with people for a living. (so just about everyone)More Like This
The short version of the book is: Be polite and empathetic towards everyone you meet, and show a genuine interest in them. Avoid arguments and be very sensitive and understanding when trying to change someone’s mind. Admit it when you’re wrong. Remember that people are emotional creatures, and that they’re motivated by their own pride and desires more than anything else. Make people feel appreciated and important.
Although the book is mainly set in the context of business transactions, I think it’s quite useful in just about any type of relationship, and I’ve been figuring out a lot of the lessons on my own over the years while dealing with people online.
Here’s some of my favorite quotes from the book:

this is an old poem:
The Hot Sun And The Sensual Wind
The sun is very rude today,
he likes to strip my tight jacket
with his strong warm rays,
but I`m frightened
`cause the wind too,
likes to make something nasty …
He has walked around me
so close, near my long green dress
and he has tried to catch the moment
when I`m confused and wet
from goose pimples…
That is really stressful!
I like to choose only one of them,
but I can`t stay cool-headed,
my thoughts are confused and misty…
I can`t resist…
I fall asleep under the sun`s rays
when I had a conversation with him these days…
Making love with the sun is fake,
actually I have done that mistake.
But he has told his best friend the wind,
and he doesn't respect me anymore…
He is angry and he has made the storm
with passion and hot words…
Now, can`t you see...
That I`m a linden tree?!
Unusual thingsI don His tent was made out of leather and the dust of memories. He has invited me without words, just his secret smile lures me in his world, this state between past and future. He wears a white shirt with black letters that has an important message, but I didn't know that when I saw him. He looked strange and wonderful, his black eyes were magical and so dreamy, he has already woken up.More Like This
I enter the tent and I see fire in the corner that looks supernatural. He holds me without words, first it was a friendly hug, but after a few seconds I feel a deep emotional wave. He starts to touch my hair, he smells it.
-''Why do you smell like lavender ''– he asks me…..''My pillow smells like your hair'' he said after small break.
-''I washed my hair with an organic shampoo…''- I was in awe…
-''Oh, we should drink tea'' –he broke the silence and the exciting atmosphere. The passion between us started growing, at this moment warmth in his eyes made me more upset …
He prepared tea and said that my b
