Another bag I painted. I was going to do grapes all over it, but decided on blossoms instead.

New picture from Patagonia 1 month trip .

I chose a cold white balance and muted tones for this scene ; but still hesitating with the pure B/W version .

This was in the first part of our trip, reaching 'lago de Los tres' quite famous place just in front of this crazy fortress ( Cerro Fitz Roy ) .

What I really liked here is the cloud bow just above the mountains .

Here you can see the same mountain during the night :

I hope you'll enjoy this vision,

thank you

Bryce Canyon is a natural monument located in southwestern Utah in the United States along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. These geological structures are called hoodoos, formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks.

This is my second photograph from my trip to Canada.
I didn't have the time to wait for the sun to fully set, but I think I made the best of it and also managed to give it a unique look, so it differs from all the other photographs taken from this spot.

If you want to see more of my photographs from Canada go to my Facebook-Page. I still have a few shots left to upload and I will upload them there first!

At Seal Cove (21U 543540.42 m E, 5531775.12 m N) near Bay Verte in Newfoundland. An iceberg across the cove calved and when the wave hit this one it flipped up showing a stunning underside. And as the sun sank...

Here's the video of the iceberg flipping over. I started filming about half way through: [link]

Dancing flames above the ice ...

This warm/cold opposition was a very decliate work .. quite hard to find the correct equilibrium. Maybe still too experimental for some of you , maybe a bit too much 'surrealism' .. But in fact . the blue hue in the dark tones was an interesting compliment for the upper sky's color . the warm balance was quite cold on the icy part .. I've mixed two bracketed shots .. And tried to keep the essence and simplicity of the composition.

04/09/13 - Climbing at Cinque Torri by night, Cortina, Dolomites, Italy.

Camera data (Exif):

Canon EOS 6D

Canon EF17-40mm

F/5.6

Exp 2160 sec

ISO-100

This is a single long exposure shot of two climbers making a night time ascent of Torre Quarta in the Italian Dolomites. Many thanks to Lynne and Pat for indulging the plan with a late night climb. They climbed a slight variant on the 'normal route' (hard to see in the dark!). The shot took a while to set up as I really wanted a central north star for the trails.

The effect was achieved by both the climbers wearing a different coloured head torch. The green glow two-thirds of the way up is the belay. The impressive Tofana di Rozes can be seen in the background.

Many thanks for viewing, I hope you enjoy.

Went up to Wells Gray Provincial Park for some R&R, and ended up having a more exciting trip than we anticipated.
A film crew from Media House was there with Red Bull ice climber Will Gadd. They were very friendly, and kind enough to let us know when the helicopter was coming to film so that we could watch it go into Helmcken Falls. The line to the left of the falls is the line the climbers were taking.
It was also very interesting to get a sense of scale of that cone - we were told it was approx. 120' tall while we were there.
Thanks for looking. :)

"I am looking for someone to share in an adventure..." - said Gandalf to Bilbo... For a hobbit "adventure" means leaving  his home, for a man entering a hobbit's home could be a great adventure)). Entering a hobbit-hole and the whole of Middle-earth is possible in Switzerland, where one can find an amazing Middle-earth museum (Greisinger Museum); there are not only a hobbit's apartments there, but also many rooms full of items connected with Tolkien, Middle-earth, and The Lord of the Rings movies.
The image depicts the entrance to the museum (the photo was edited so much primarily in order to conceal the defects of shooting); I wanted just to share it).
The museum is located in a wonderful place - the Rhine Valey in the canton of
Graubünden in eastern Switzerland.

That’s the entrance to the cave where Switzerland’s saint and patron lived and died (according to legend). He was born in Scotland or Ireland but Saint Peter himself told him to travel to Switzerland and convert the Swiss to Christianity. Which he did. He wanted to visit this cave but unfortunately the cave was home to a dragon which terrorized the Swiss living in the region. But our saint banished the dragon, took the cave as his new home and lived there alone happily ever after.
So yeah, basically Switzerland got a national saint who is famous for little except staying alone inside a cave. I don’t think any other country would have accepted such a national saint :XD:
