He was the only one; the only kitten of the litter, and he stood out from his mother's fur like a drop of the sun. Despite being small in size, he had a mew like the roar of a lion— and a long journey ahead of him as well that would change his life.
"His name will be Blaise," the exhausted tortoiseshell managed to say with a wrenched breath, looking over at the healer with twinkling green eyes.
He nodded, gaze glued to the newborn kit with interest. "It's a beautiful name, Aura." he commented with a gentle smile, glancing over at the den's opening. "....Would you like me to notify Bruce?"
She gave him a tiny shake of her head and exhaled a soft sigh. "He's had a rough day. Let him have his rest." she said quietly, eyes wandering elsewhere. Her mate always seemed so busy. She didn't want to upset him by waking him so late.
He blinked at her understandingly and laid down beside the young she-cat. "Alright then." he huffed, lowering his head down on his paw
