It happens to be the day I flew back. The flight back to England was very long, only because I knew what was waiting on the other side and I couldn't wait to see him again.
When I got off the plane, I don't think I have run faster in my life. I stood in front of the area where the bags were coming out and acted like some kind of idiot really because I was literally pacing around it trying to get my bags out as fast as possible. I borrowed a stranger's phone to call Kurt at that moment because I knew when I crossed those doors, he would be waiting for me on the other side. And when I walked out with my trolley of stuff, there he was. Right in the middle wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of jeans, his arms open wide to grab me, I could see him before I even walked out of the doors at Heathrow. I left my trolley at that point because honestly, I didn't give a damn where it went and in seconds
A personal story about bullyingSILENT BULLYING. When I was in elementary school bulluying started to rise up on the agenda of teachers and parents. I know my parents went to meetings to learn more about what bullying was. They talked about kids getting called names, getting hit and a lot of other things, what they didn't talk about was the silent bullying.More Like This
The bullying with no words, with no actions other than looks, sighs and giggles behind the person's back and some occasional words.
From around third grade to sixth grade I was a victim to silent bullying and no one noticed. Even today people speak about how happy I was as a kid, how imaginative and so on... In my diary at the time it says nothing about being bullied - I didn't understand I was.
I thought I deserved the looks, that they were right when they commented my height, that I was ugly, how I waved my hands around when I talked, how I sat, how I walked and my hair... which was said to be a wig.

It's just there's stuff I want to do first; having just found my muse, I'm not ready to go yet. I don't think I'm gonna last that long, though. I've had three heart attacks, and I'll only be 56 in ten days. But, I know it's coming. I can sense it. Oh, well...I've had fun. Momma always said I was lucky; I reckon that's so. So, it really made me take a long hard look at what is available to the apophysis users, and I was totally amazed at what I had found.
Recently, I came across many resources that had well under 100 s and over 1,000 downloads. Does that sound right to you? It sure didn't to me, so I am featuring these awesome artists who provide so many resources for all of us to advance our artform one step further!!! Please note, this is only a very small fraction of the resources available for Apophysis programs!!! Below are just a few of the many resources by artist.

A New Way to Make SuggestionsHello Beta Testers!More Like This
For some time we've been running a limited test of the Ideas Forum on our Zendesk Help Desk integration. Today, we're expanding this test to our Beta Testers.
This forum allows for a great deal of flexibility in how we approach suggestions.
We can mark items that are planned, completed, or not planned at this time. We can also highlight staff responses on forums, giving more weight to responses that are important in informing deviants why we can, or cannot, take a suggestion into consideration at this time.
Deviants can vote on one anothers' posts, giving greater community control over what content is reviewed. The more votes, the higher the suggestion will appear in the forum! Unlike our current forum, threads don't expire, and when creating a new thread you'll be prompted with similar threads.
These are only a few of the features the new forum has, but altogether our testing has shown thus far that

About Stock (and Typography)Did you know that no matter what gallery you submit to on dA, you HAVE to credit your sources? Hell yes!More Like This
This includes among other things images, textures, brushes, fonts etc., just to name the most commonly used Stock and Resource items.
The Photo Manipulation gallery and community f.e. takes great effort into crediting the materials used for their works and has some shining examples among its submissions, sometimes containing up to 50 seperate sources.
There are lots of great typography deviations that are pretty much Photo Manipulations, as they use a series of materials to create the final artwork.
It does not matter where you get your files from, even if the provider does not require credit, dA does require you to credit your sources.

First off, for clarifications sake, Yes, this limit also includes groups you are watching. Secondly, you may only be able to +watch 5,000 deviants, but you can in turn be +watched by as many deviants as there are on the site. Thirdly, there are really only a handful of deviants (out of hundreds of millions) that watch more than 5,000 deviants. It's more than likely this change won't even affect you.
That said… let's do a bit of math. I know, I know… "grumble, grumble, math sucks". But trust me, it puts this into perspective a bit.
Let's go with the edge case and say that you happen to be watching 5,000 deviants. Let's also say that these deviants post 1 - 2 messages to your message centre a day for a week. That's fairly generous,

This would not be a huge deal all in all, it would make things tougher for me, and for the head blacksmith and the sign shop guys, but there's worse. It seems it was the head blacksmith who had gone out on a limb to get him the job in the first place. Gene (the head blacksmith) was a

DeviantArt and Angry MobsDue to the nature of DeviantArt it is quite easy to perceive that there's "a lot of people" who are upset with any given thing, enough so that you could even believe that "everyone" believes the same thing.More Like This
I felt that perhaps the community would like me to explain how DeviantArt views these types of things.
First of all, DeviantArt, Inc. is extremely deliberate. We don't do anything accidentally. Everything that hits the community is the result of a team collaboration that usually take weeks or months to complete. And so when we make mistakes they are felt by a group here or by our whole team.
Things you should know:
First of all you must believe that our team is 100% motivated to ensure that DA is healthy, and that decisions we make turn out to be better than how things were before. Each decision is likely to affect different pockets of people, and so you will always see the group that's unhappy pool together. The happy group is happy, so they don't tend to band toget
Update: Fair Exposure and Popular Browse Fair Exposure and miscategorizationMore Like This
On January 24th, 2012, we released an hq journal regarding Popular results for Browse. In this journal, we described Fair Exposure -- deviantART's algorithm for Popular browse results. Fair Exposure's goal is to showcase the most popular deviations in a variety of styles, genres, and art forms, without bias towards a particular topic.
Since the release of our Fair Exposure announcement, especially in the last handful of weeks, we've noticed a concerted, dedicated effort made by deviants, or groups of deviants, to specifically beat (or "game") the system. Deviations have been intentionally miscategorized in hopes of having them appear "higher" in Popular results. This has, rightfully so, resulted in complaints from deviants who submit to deviantART in a fair and honest manner.

Mandelbulb3D Gnarlies Different WayOkay people! You know I'm always happy to share my every experience with Mandelbulb3D or other programs! And here I go. This time going for gnarlies in MB3D easier, cooler and less time-consuming. All you will need is Mandelbulb3D, picture for diffusing color in final, and UF, or any other software that can make you 2D gnarls. So let's begin!More Like This
You can see I use UF for making gnarlies so for example I'll use this. Render done now, Let's proceed to MB3D part.
1b - Before you run MB3D, put the image in M3Maps folder and remember number you saved it as. You can also keep it opened. Here's example:
2. - Alright. I think you already opened MB3D and in first slot put HeightmapIFS, and the number of gnarly map. For quickier render set max Iters to 1. (Oh and of course lower Raystep and Stepwidht !) Also change H Scale for scaling roughness, smoothness or adjusing details of you map. Agai

I've assumed that you already put on the first slot the Asurf2 formula.
So, let's change some values:
Min R= 0.1
Rotate1 Z= 8
It would look something like this:

Creative Criticism vs BashingAs a photographer, artist, writer or any other creative field, you are always trying to improve at what you do. We always seek out the advice of others to know what they think of our work and therefore knowing whether it's good or if it needs improvement. I'm going to let you guys know a little of how I got to the point where I'm at now. I have always delved into many different fields in the path of discovering what I wanted to do in life. In the path of discovery I first started off as a writer. I depended on the constructive criticism of my teachers to tell me whether my writing was good or if it needed improvement. My teachers always seemed to love my work and would always tell me that I could be a great writer if I stuck with it. In the end, I didn't stick with it. I dabbled with art for a while and always received praise from my fellow classmates for the pictures I drew, and I even sold the drawings I made in class for 25 cents each.. Lol But anyways, somewhere downMore Like This
