It happens to be the day I flew back. The flight back to England was very long, only because I knew what was waiting on the other side and I couldn't wait to see him again.
When I got off the plane, I don't think I have run faster in my life. I stood in front of the area where the bags were coming out and acted like some kind of idiot really because I was literally pacing around it trying to get my bags out as fast as possible. I borrowed a stranger's phone to call Kurt at that moment because I knew when I crossed those doors, he would be waiting for me on the other side. And when I walked out with my trolley of stuff, there he was. Right in the middle wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of jeans, his arms open wide to grab me, I could see him before I even walked out of the doors at Heathrow. I left my trolley at that point because honestly, I didn't give a damn where it went and in seconds
A personal story about bullyingSILENT BULLYING. When I was in elementary school bulluying started to rise up on the agenda of teachers and parents. I know my parents went to meetings to learn more about what bullying was. They talked about kids getting called names, getting hit and a lot of other things, what they didn't talk about was the silent bullying.More Like This
The bullying with no words, with no actions other than looks, sighs and giggles behind the person's back and some occasional words.
From around third grade to sixth grade I was a victim to silent bullying and no one noticed. Even today people speak about how happy I was as a kid, how imaginative and so on... In my diary at the time it says nothing about being bullied - I didn't understand I was.
I thought I deserved the looks, that they were right when they commented my height, that I was ugly, how I waved my hands around when I talked, how I sat, how I walked and my hair... which was said to be a wig.

Recently, I came across many resources that had well under 100 s and over 1,000 downloads. Does that sound right to you? It sure didn't to me, so I am featuring these awesome artists who provide so many resources for all of us to advance our artform one step further!!! A New Way to Make SuggestionsHello Beta Testers!More Like This
For some time we've been running a limited test of the Ideas Forum on our Zendesk Help Desk integration. Today, we're expanding this test to our Beta Testers.
This forum allows for a great deal of flexibility in how we approach suggestions.
We can mark items that are planned, completed, or not planned at this time. We can also highlight staff responses on forums, giving more weight to responses that are important in informing deviants why we can, or cannot, take a suggestion into consideration at this time.
Deviants can vote on one anothers' posts, giving greater community control over what content is reviewed. The more votes, the higher the suggestion will appear in the forum! Unlike our current forum, threads don't expire, and when creating a new thread you'll be prompted with similar threads.
These are only a few of the features the new forum has, but altogether our testing has shown thus far that

About Stock (and Typography)Did you know that no matter what gallery you submit to on dA, you HAVE to credit your sources? Hell yes!More Like This
This includes among other things images, textures, brushes, fonts etc., just to name the most commonly used Stock and Resource items.
The Photo Manipulation gallery and community f.e. takes great effort into crediting the materials used for their works and has some shining examples among its submissions, sometimes containing up to 50 seperate sources.
There are lots of great typography deviations that are pretty much Photo Manipulations, as they use a series of materials to create the final artwork.
It does not matter where you get your files from, even if the provider does not require credit, dA does require you to credit your sources.

+Watch limits and youSeems there is some controversy surrounding the recent hq blog post regarding the new 5,000 user +watch limit.More Like This
First off, for clarifications sake, Yes, this limit also includes groups you are watching. Secondly, you may only be able to +watch 5,000 deviants, but you can in turn be +watched by as many deviants as there are on the site. Thirdly, there are really only a handful of deviants (out of hundreds of millions) that watch more than 5,000 deviants. It's more than likely this change won't even affect you.
That said… let's do a bit of math. I know, I know… "grumble, grumble, math sucks". But trust me, it puts this into perspective a bit.
Let's go with the edge case and say that you happen to be watching 5,000 deviants. Let's also say that these deviants post 1 - 2 messages to your message centre a day for a week. That's fairly generous,

Q: What's your name, who are you and what do you do?
My name is Hanna and I live in northern part of Finland, in a little town surrounded by forests and nearby a lake. Outside of DeviantArt I have full time job which takes majority of my time. The rest of time, outside my work, is divided between my dog, family, friends and all kind of artsy things and of course big part of those artsy things is DA.
Q:What is your main art form? Do you do any others?
My main art form is traditional art; I usually do drawings by mixing watercolors, markers and colored pencils. I am a detail and texture junkie, the more colors and details I can stuff in my artworks the better! I do also digital art now and then and would love to become better with it.
Q: Could you

Fractalizing Yourself? Fractal Mysteries 01Hello! I was just like bored browsing my Mandelbulb3D folder, and just found this after long time ->More Like This
It's easier than you can think! More fun is to combine yourself with many other variations!
All you need is Mandelbulb3D, picture of yourself (best is very good quallity photo, i use one from my FB account) and fractal skills - my picture
1. Open Mandelbulb3D and put in first slot HeightMapIFS
1a : When you save picture of yourself, give it number, remember it, and then move picture to M3Maps folder!
2. Input map (photo) number.
2a : With my example, it looks like this.
Tip: Lower Max iteration, unless you want more colors, but takes longer render! (For example, 10 is fine)
3a-b : Now It's just up your taste. Keep on higher iters to make more colour-rich!
Let me experiment, and see what I made by adding more f

An Amazing Surf 2 GuidelineMany people went a bit frustrated on not getting anything “cool” from the new Amazing Surf 2 formula recently made by Luca, aka dark-beam :icondark-beam: for Mandelbulb 3D.More Like This
If you haven't it in hand you can get it here: http://www.fractalforums.com/mandelbulb-3d/custom-formulas-and-transforms-release-t17106/
Here's a brief indication on how you can get nice patterns out of it without hair pulling
I've assumed that you already put on the first slot the Asurf2 formula.
So, let's change some values:
Min R= 0.1
Rotate1 Z= 8
It would look something like this:
Now go on the Julia tab in the main window or in the 3D navi, as you most prefer, and input the following values:

Acts of Random Kindness Challenge Complete!Last year I didn't give you all much warning before kicking off my ARK Project effort, which I am going to remedy by posting this now! It's time to brush off those Acts of Random Kindness hats and get out into the community and spread the love. I've changed the rules a bit from last year, but the idea remains the same.More Like This
So what's this "ARK Project" thing you're talking about?
It stands for Acts of Random Kindness, which is exactly what I'm challenging you to do. If you want more than that, try this journal!
They dubbed this sort of random act of nice commenting a "remARK", and my end-of-challenge blog will be posted as soon as I can manage after Valentine's Day, and submitted to deviantHEART's remARKs gallery and DeviantART-Smiles' gallery, too. Twelve winners will get features, and depending on how

The article must be original (must not have been published anywhere else before).
And...that's about it. I will take care of the Intro and the Wrap-up journals and another article, so there are other 11 spots.
Once I get enough replies and partecipation, I will contact you via note and give you further explanation.
Basically, I just want to check who is surely in.
Creative Criticism vs BashingAs a photographer, artist, writer or any other creative field, you are always trying to improve at what you do. We always seek out the advice of others to know what they think of our work and therefore knowing whether it's good or if it needs improvement. I'm going to let you guys know a little of how I got to the point where I'm at now. I have always delved into many different fields in the path of discovering what I wanted to do in life. In the path of discovery I first started off as a writer. I depended on the constructive criticism of my teachers to tell me whether my writing was good or if it needed improvement. My teachers always seemed to love my work and would always tell me that I could be a great writer if I stuck with it. In the end, I didn't stick with it. I dabbled with art for a while and always received praise from my fellow classmates for the pictures I drew, and I even sold the drawings I made in class for 25 cents each.. Lol But anyways, somewhere downMore Like This
