Could you attract someone like that?
Could you go where people can see someone like me?
Could you do that?
Everything that seemed important to you.
Everything you cared for.
Everyone you loved, didn't matter anymore.
You slowly sat back, your newly made claws scratching the ground where you crouched. You had finally come to the realization that you were no longer able to feel emotions. Nothing.
You had never felt this empty before. It felt as if a whole side of you had been ripped clean and someone had given you pain killers so it wouldn’t hurt. It was the worst feeling, yet the best, to be empty like this. You knew you could feel before. But now, you didn’t know what.
Would you face me?
Make me listen to the truth even if it breaks me?
You can judge me, love me If you’re hating me, do it honestly
You slowly looked at your hands. They were longer
Where the Heart Lies: Chapter 3My eyes flutter open to a white void of nothing, I notice my side doesn't hurt. Sitting up I see no blood and there was no pain. I look around as I stand up. "Ladeth." a voice said behind me. I turn around and see a she-elf standing before me. "Mother." I say softly, she nods and smiles. She holds out her arms to me, I run to her and embrace her tightly. "My dear Ladeth." she says pulling away and looking at me, my eyes filled with tears. "I have missed you so much." she says taking my face in both her hands, I smile softly, but then curiosity took a hold of me. "Where are we?" I ask, "...and how am I healed?" she smiles. "We are in the space between the living and the dead." she takes my hands in hers. "A-am I dying?" I ask. "No child." she said. "Then...why am I here?" I ask looking a little confused. "I called you here..." she says looking at my confused expression that was asking her 'why'. "I called you here to tell you how important you are, you have a gift, a gift that is rare."More Like This
BARNSLEY JJ Jan/Feb 2015 Formula ChallengeHello to you all.More Like This
We hope you all enjoyed our last challenge (Barnsley JJ) and are ready for another one. Those of you who participated in the challenge seem to have enjoyed yourselves and one or two of you really got to grips with the formula itself, which was what the challenge was all about.
Here are some that clearly show what can be achieved by using different Outside Colouring Algorithm. Favourites being Orbit Traps and Doodads.
These ones show you the sheer variety that is available by using the settings within the formula itself

Some Good News My last journal, two weeks ago, was about having another two weeks until I started my job. My son failed his driver's test last week for the second time, so today was the last time he would have a chance before Monday, the day I start work. This past week I had been busy with him driving every where. We probably did almost 40 hours of driving. I downloaded a guide on how to teach someone to drive, and it gave lessons, etc. It helped us tremendously. Everything I took for granted that he already knew, I actually had never told him. Anyway he passed today, and was as excited as was I. He left there smiling, which he hardly ever does in public.More Like This
Downside, I got behind on my messages and fractal making, but I have four days until I start work. I plan to do nothing but some laundry and make so many fractals. My plan is to continue to post at least two fractals a night, I made it thr

So what to tell you about me. I have been making art in one form or another since I was 4 years old. My first dabblings in digital art were with the free 'Paint' programme that shipped with every version of windows. They call it pixel art nowadays.
An Access to Art course in my fourties and a couple of months at The London College of Printing learning Photoshop, Illustrator and QuarkXPress gave me the impetus to learn on my own and my lasting love of vector graphics.
I opened a DA account some years ago to share my photography
Two More WeeksWell, I am currently rendering my Ultrafractal piece I wanted to post tonight, but I don't think it will be done before I go to bed. I decided to write a journal entry instead.More Like This
I had this plan to get a few things done before I started work on Monday. I wanted to get my son registered and started in school, needed to get my second car up and running, and have my son gets his drivers license. Well, steps one and two went off without a hitch with a couple miracles that happened in between, but when we went to take the driving test yesterday, he failed. His school is 45 minutes from my house, and then my job is another 45 minutes from there. I would have to be at work at 0700, so I probably would have to drop him off 2 hours early to be safe. Then came the part where I would have to figure out how to get him to the test again, which he can not take until next Wednesday. How bad would it be to ask for a day or a morning off the first week. OMG

Framed Challenge Jan-Feb 2015More Like This
For the month of January 2015 till Mid February we thought it would be nice to run a formula challenge with a difference. The formula I have chosen is Barnsley JJ in OST.ufm. But.....
We have been discussing the possibility of running workshops in the future and will be trialling different ways of working. So for this challenge we would like you to produce four (4) one layer fractals and submit them to the group using the layout below which has parameters included. This is to challenge yourself to not only use the formula but also produce a variety of images from just the formula. You can produce more than one set of four (4) but we would like you to stick to the same OCA of your choice for each group of four, only changing the OCA for the second and subsequent groups. Try out different OCA's from what you are used to. Generally speaking the less options there are in an OCA the more faithfull your work wi

New Year WeekI apologize for my absence for the last couple days, but I see I am behind on three pong replies, with one done and two to go, wish me luck!More Like This
Has anyone thought about their New Year Resolutions yet? I think my biggest thing is going to get a job, and pay off my car in the next couple months, which would only be 10 months early, which is not bad, the last new car I bought took me 3 years, but also was about 10,000 cheaper. I will be just happy to have it done. I still own both cars, and they both run, the cool thing is I still think of my 4 year old car as brand new.
Exercise, weight loss, quit smoking are the most common resolutions I can think of, but does anyone have any dA resolutions? Can you do 365 with fractals?
Well, let me get busy with my returns!
Happy New Year, and I hope you all had a great Christmas!
Thank you all so much for the gifts I received!
Artistry in UF No. 3A Series By The FounderMore Like This
This is a continuation of a monthly feature of various people's works created in Ultra Fractal, showing some of the amazing artistry that I particularly admire. Some of the artists are no longer active here at dA, or scarcely come here and so will be older works, many of which were created before facilities in UF became more "visual", and so a very good retention of learning knowledge (or at least a cataloguing) of what did what was perhaps more needed.
At the time I started doing this series, Ersi would have been classified amongst my "old timers" in creating beautiful UF artwork, but I'm delighted to say that she has become active again and is producing images that are as beautiful as ever. Her sense of colour and formations make even, what could have been, the most uninteresting of work look simply amazing - true eye-candy. Er
