Creating a Beautiful Fractal ImageThere are so many beautiful fractal images in the art world...More Like This
...and the ones here at Deviant Art are no exception! The images are as diverse as each person who creates it. I am a lay-person on the subject when it comes to explaining the art itself. Simply put...fractals are based on Mathematical Equations. The how and the why of this explanation still eludes me, but the beauty of the images keep my creating them. For information about the underlying mathematics check this Wikipedia link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractals
This journal will look at the elements that go into creating a beautiful Fractal Image, rather then the complexity of the base mathematics.

Yep, you read right folks - the new version of M3D now has the facility to render
volumetric light! This will add a whole new level of potential creativity to what is
already a superb piece of fractal software!

In Jesse's own words:
"Not sure if this release is too early, but someone might use it for the FractalForums
contest so here it is....and I need some rest!
Please look at the readme for some explanations for the new volumetric function.
What is new in version 1.8.9:
- Volumetric light option.
- Some issues fixed.
- Changing between relative and absolute light angle for global lights preserves the
- Formula update, some sine approximation adds with more options."
I suspect that we'll be seeing a lot of amazing lighting effects over the next few weeks!
