Well, here's my latest Loki 'Avengers'/Dark World hair' cross, taken from a screenshot.
The hair is roughly referenced from the Thor 2 teaser, & that newly released b/w mystery still of an aggressively roaring Loki showing off his 'claws', sporting a singular braid. No one seems to know where it really belongs to, & everyone keeps denying it's from The Dark World, but it certainly is not from The Avengers. Either way, I incorporated the luscious teaser mane & still's wild strands & braid & doubled them, to make him look sufficiently 'wild' & 'combative' in this shot. I will use the actual full shot in another darker Beksinski manip later.
Now, when I started out on this digi rendition, I intended to omit the fussy background as much as I could. No such luck, it looked liked Loki was hovering in white space even with strategically placed shadows, it was boring. It worked on the action figure Loki piece [link]
- but not here. So I added a roughly recreated grey granite terrace & blurry city backdrop. Not enough to look ok still. So I added an entirely redesigned background, by extending on the (simpler) building façade & a lesser (complicated) glass front, & made the inside look darker simply to avoid adding all that's visible inside of no real interest. A wild-eyed/maned Loki is the key feature here, not Stark's Tower. Though to be honest, I rather like the neat glass front, fluffy clouds, new shadows & all.
If you compare the piece with the original screencap you will see just how much I altered, & added, & what is identical - not evident on first glimpse. Like golden boot studs instead of silver ones, since when he's wearing his cloaked armour they're golden - & in some scenes they forgot about it & left them silver/black. Emphasising on his hair & keeping more in tone with the original natural colours & not too much highlighting, bar his elaborate armour, face, lips, I made his eyebrows & lashes match in wild volume, & gave him green eyes again to match his emerald cloak. Of course he needed his first sustained bruise under his left eye from his messy fight with Thor, before being blown out the skies by Hawkeye's explosive arrow. Voilà, a perfectly teed off Loki.
I posted this as PNG, since I noticed JPGs lose on high-res once uploaded, especially highlights & finer details, looking a bit washed out, to preserve the original, superior quality better.
Feel free to download, use as wallpaper etc. - DO however give credit & link back to this source if posting on blogs etc. Please do NOT alter in any form, or I'll send a very wild Loki after you.
