Pairing: Markimash (MereMark and Yamimash) (Kinda)
High in the vast blue sky, hung a bright sun that scorched the world below. It particularly beat down upon a small stretch of beach on the California coastline. The waves collided with the shore and the ocean creating a soothing sound that echoed in the ears of the beach goers. Yet because of the day's heat many opted to stay inside with the air-conditioning on full blast. This left this stretch of beach almost void of any people despite the fact it was midday. With the bright blue sky hanging overhead the breeze carried the pungent smell of the sea to the noses of every residents. Yet if you looked closely at the beach you'd find a contrast to the bright world sitting between the dunes. Standing tall and steady out of the sand was a umbrella, multicolored with bright stunning colors. The dark shadow it created contrasted against the bright tan sand and kept the occupier of it's shade cool from the unrelenting rays of the sun. An oasis in the burning sands, the owner sighed contently as he basked in the cool shade. The owner was a new resident to the California coast and he was deathly pale from his old home. So this paleness didn't help one bit against the bright sun that would surely burn his snow white skin. This made the umbrella an necessity as he lay down in the comfortable shade.
'Aw, Aaron you've done good for yourself,' he thought as he stretched himself across a worn beach towel that sat comfortably in the shade. 'Just think, only a week ago I was in murky England and now I am in sunny California.' A sigh left the pale young man, 'A bit hot though.' Aaron lay on his back listening to lulling sound of the ocean clashing against the shore, a perfect time for a nap. With a calm smile resting on his lips, Aaron closed his eyes and waited for sleep to over come him. Yet minute after minute passed by with nothing happening. Sleep refused to greet him and the feeling of irritation began to become present in Aaron's features. His original plan was to sleep the day away but the more he attempted to rest the more restless he became. With a deep sigh Aaron sat up and sent his pale feet into the burning sands. Wincing slightly, he stood and began to walk through the scorching sands. Boredom lurked like a viper in his mind, he often caught himself gazing at shiny things in the sand because there simply was nothing else to do. (That's what I do. :3) His bright blue eyes scanned the shore and waves to find anything to rid himself of this boredom. But amidst the rolling waves he found something that indeed cured his ailment of boredom.
Something far off in the water shimmered and glittered. Aaron barely caught it out of the corner of his eye, but what he saw was long and black. The thing he saw was dark as the night sky and if he wasn't mistaken it had specks of red dotted all along it. With wide eyes Aaron looked to where the shimmer was, nothing. His eyes franticly scanned the water's surface for the shimmer, for anything really. Yet again Aaron's blue eyes found nothing but the dancing waves of the ocean. Not wanting to return to the mindless plague of boredom Aaron began to take small steps towards the water's edge. It was probably was just nothing, but Aaron proceeded to where the waves slapped against the wet sand. Soon his aching feet stepped on the cooling damp sand and a sigh of relief left his lips, yet this moment was short lived as he began moving forward once again. The salty water of the ocean soon collided with Aaron's ankles which caused him to shiver to run down his spine. 'Cold,' he thought to him self before he proceeded onward into the vast ocean. When the waves began to swirl at his hips, Aaron dived down into the salty waters below. Immediately he began to kick and flail as he began to swim downward deeper and deeper into the darkness below. Holding his breath, he dove down and he began to search for the glimmering object that caught his eye. Franticly he searched the sandy ocean floor with his eyes darting through the huge clumps of seaweed and peeking around the water worn rocks. 'It couldn't of just disappeared,' Aaron thought as his lungs began to burn and the need of air soon became present in his mind. Sighing inwardly he began to kick his feet to propel himself upward, but something held him down. Panicked he began to struggle, with a flurry of kicks and with flailing his arms wildly he attempted to escape what surely would become his watery grave. Yet he didn't budge and right as he felt himself fading out his eyes darted down to his legs. On his left leg a tangle of green seaweed wrapped it's self tightly around his pale calf. With that last look at what lead him to his doom Aaron felt his eyes closed and he drifted into unconsciousness.
On the ocean floor not too far away from where the now unconscious lad floated, was a figure who hid in the shadows of nearby rocks. Fear was on the figure's mind as he watched Aaron float aimlessly with cautious eyes. 'He saw me!,' the figure thought as it moved around in the darkness simulating the act of pacing. Yet soon the figure's look of panic shifted to one of curiosity for Aaron didn't move for a few moments, then the figure saw that Aaron's eyes were closed and to it he looked like he was sleeping. 'Why is he sleeping?,' the figure thought and soon this curiosity burned within it's being, it just needed to know what was going on. So gathering all of it's courage that rested within it, it dove of the protective cloak of the shadows into the well lit waters. This figure was a man, well at least from the hips up he was. But below the hips he definitely wasn't human for a long tail covered in black fish scales sprouted from where his legs should of been. Even his arms had an odd fish like quality because of the large black fins jutting out by the elbows. This merman swam over to Aaron using his long tail to help and his webbed hands poked at the limp Aaron. Of course no reaction greeted the creature, which only made him more interested. Soon the merman began to prod and tug at various body parts trying to gain the other's attention. Right as he had a fistful of hair clutched tightly in his hands he came to a sudden realization. 'Oh yeah, these things live up there,' the scaled man's eyes flickered upward to the surface, 'I better help him up.' So he snapped the wriggling seaweed with ease and wrapped his arms tightly around the unconscious Aaron. With one mighty flip of his tail, both were shooting upwards towards the surface and were much closer to Aaron's salvation.
Soon the duo broke the water's surface, yet to the merman's frustration the unconscious Aaron didn't stir. With an irritated sigh the merman swam forward towards the shore clutching his sleeping prize. When the merman was resting comfortably in a shallow set of water, he began to investigate. Poking and prodding all over the youth's body resulted in nothing until he invested the mouth. 'Oh yeah, I've seen those men in red do something that always caused them to wake up. I should try it on him,' a smile played across the merman's face as he brought his lips to the other's cold ones. Copying the movements that he had seen be done before, the merman began to breath in and out into the others mouth. This action repeated until the still frame of Aaron began to shake and sputter. The British lad began to violently cough up the seawater that managed to enter his lungs, the merman backed away as this coughing fit ensued. Tears stung at Aaron's eyes as he struggled to catch his breath and he felt a foreign hand began to pat his back. Yet soon Aaron managed to breath calmly and without much trouble, when he achieved this he felt confusion cloud his mind. 'Wasn't I just swimming in the ocean a minute ago,' Aaron thought still dazed by the experience. It took Aaron several minutes to adjust to his surroundings but when he did he slowly turned to see the owner of the unknown hand. Aaron gasped at the merman who stared back at him with glee, "You're a Hoooman, right?"(Reference Kinda!
) The lad could only nodded to the his question and then feel his own questions fill up his mind. Aaron looked to the merman with hesitation before speaking, "W-who are you." A grin broke out on the other's face and a look of excitement formed in his eyes, "My name is Markiplier! The most manliest Merman in the entire sea!" Mark began to flex his arms and grunt to show his mighty manliest which in effect caused a silent giggle to escape Aaron. The display was quite humorous and soon more audible giggles left Aaron. Yet the merman didn't mind his new friend's giggles, he knew himself that the act was quite humorous to look at. The duo then had a friendly chatted that went on for quite some time, but they had to stop this pleasant talk for the sun set began to glimmer in the once pale blue sky. A sigh left Aaron as his blue eyes shifted to the sandy shore that was not too far away from where he waddled in the shallow water. "I think I have to go," Aaron said rather glumly and he looked back to his merman friend looking quite disappointed. Mark carried the same expression until it suddenly turned into one of eagerness and joy. "You could come back here tomorrow and we can hang out then!," Mark said in a bouncy tone with a wide grin resting on his face. A small smile then played it's self on Aaron's face as he played with the idea in his head. "I'd like that," Aarons said before he looked to the shore once again. He then began to take step after step through the swirling of the water and right before he met the sandy shore Aaron turned back and waved to Mark. Mark waved back with a smile before he dived back down into the dark waters below with a flip of his tale. Now with a cheery smile resting firmly on his face Aaron headed home. He now was content that he had at least one friend in this new place.
