Multnomah Falls
Top tier of the falls with the Benson Bridge
Columbia River Gorge, Oregon
Historic Highway 30
Date Taken: October 30th 2012

About the falls:
Multnomah Falls is a tiered fall with a total height of 620 ft, placing the fall as the second tallest year-round waterfall in the United States, which makes it the tallest fall in Oregon. Multnomah Falls has several other falls in the area around it, including Horsetail Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Wahkeena Falls, Latourell Falls and more. There is also many hiking trails in the are as well.

Kinda nice when the super rainy and windy weather kept everyone inside. No one was at the falls which was quite nice. :)

This is one of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen this year, which occured at the end of november.
It was shot at a little pond near home. During a very short moment the sun was just between the clouds and the mountain, so there was an awesome light. When this happens while the sky is almost full of great clouds with nice textures and shapes, it's just stunning !

Gunyah Dunes
Coffin Bay National Park
Eyre Peninsula
South Australia

The Gunyah dunes are accessable by 4WD a few kilometres off the road to Coffin Bay National Park. The last section toward the beach is very sandy which meant that Marianne and I chose to walk it given the SUV we were driving and my limited 4X4 skills. This sunset was a portent to stormy weather which would hit the area for the next few days giving some incredible conditions for photography but conditions difficult to tolerate especially in the dunes. Eyre peninsula is a photographer's playground and we would love to return there again one day!

Milang Jetty
South Australia

This morning's weekend foray into the countryside took me to Milang along the shores of Lake Alexandrina. The last time I was there, the water level was literally at least a metre lower. It was good to see the lake filled to the brim! The weather itself was pretty terrible but as often happens, some of the best light happens when there's even the tiniest of breaks in the weather, which happened at dawn. I haven't seen many pictures of this jetty so I hope what I came home with was original!

Couta Rocks
Tasmania

Over Easter 2011, ~marianne-lim and travelled the north of Tasmania for 10 days. We focused on staying a few nights at certain locations rather than squeeze too much in to the itinerary (also because Marianne was 25 weeks pregnant at the time). This location on the Northwest coast of Tasmania begged for more time but we were unfortunately located at Burnie - 1-2 hours drive away. The sunset evolved rapidly from a boring blue sky afternoon to a sudden surge of cloud and pure red sunset. This image was taken with 3 stop reverse GND and 3 stop soft GND.

Edit: stoked at my fifth Daily Deviation. Thank you so much :iconanoya: (Anoya) for featuring me, and :icontimberclipse: (TimberClipse), :iconbokehlight: (BokehLight), and :iconmiguel-santos: (Miguel-Santos) for suggesting the image for a Daily Deviation.

One of my favourite places in New Zealand, is beautiful Lake Matheson.

On favourable mornings, the reward for your early morning hiking aspirations is a crystal clear and calm lake offering pristine reflections of the alpine spectacle before your eyes.

Not the most conducive cloud cover formation for a landscape image (covering Mount Cook wholesale), but, after a failed attempt the morning prior, I was thankful for the fire in the sky this second morning's attempt.

This is an image from my spring 2011 campaign of the South Island.

After driving all the way up to the grand canyon in the middle of the night with a friend of mine to make it there in time for some night shooting and a sunrise we decided to head back towards Phoenix taking a few detours. While we never got any great night shots nor a grand sunrise, just being up there is always a pleasure. After sunrise we headed towards Sedona and tried to figure out a good spot for sunset. We still had a few hours to spare until anything began to happen, so we drove around a bit to take in some of the fall foliage around town. Suddenly, an idea popped into my head. I knew I had to be at work at 4am the next day, so I didn't want to have to drive almost four hours from the canyon after sunset, nor two from Sedona. I remembered a place that was on my autumn location list, Watson Lake. Every now and then I see a decent image from here and have seen a few with golden fall colors scattered around. The clouds were shaping up for some possibly epic light conditions, so we stuck around until sunset. My buddy had went to the shoreline to scout out some compositions and I remembered seeing this tree while we were both down there. I figured I would head to the top of the lake to get an expansive view at sunset (which I did), but then when the light seemed to disappear I turned around and saw this fiery red sky. I immediately ran down to where my friend was shooting (a similar comp in which I had visioned) and we were both lucky enough to get a shot of this incredible light show. What was even more exciting for me was the golden tree sticking out so perfectly against the granite with the sky on fire. A perfect combination of light, season, and landscape. The lack of sleep from this shoot was sooo worth it.

Aurora Australis and the Milky Way, Goats Bluff, Tasmania. 15/08/2015

I naturally spend a lot of time out under the stars around my local area and I am very familiar with a lot of the features of the night sky- so it always fascinates me when I go to Tasmania just how much higher in the sky something like the Southern Cross is and how the central bulge of the Milky Way, instead of being straight overhead at this time of the year and night from home, is a lot further to the north.
I took the opportunity of a brief window in the clouds during the large aurora display on the 15th of August to do a vertical panorama to try to catch the central bulge of the MW with limited success.

Six image panorama. Canon 6D, 14mm, F/2.8, ISO 3200, 6 X 30 seconds

I took this photofraph from Newport on the Levee. The shopping area has a gorgeous view of the Cincinnati Skyline. I used a polarizer and a neutral density filter to bring out the colors and prolong the exposure. I hope you like it.

It's a shame this didn't turn out quite as I'd have liked it ( I find snow tricky so I shot on auto so not really too surprising ) but I'd imagine it could be usefull to someone for something or other.

This photo is made today and it is some stuff from my "vintage things" collection.
Books are German and French and I bought them from the flea market. The spectacles are also from Flea market and I would like to know what year do they come from.
