Being Misunderstood Hurts...yeah so today I've read this comment on one of my Creepypasta OC drawings and well even though one comment was nice the second one was well.......very hurtful...it felt like I was misread and the person thought I was being insulting to skinny people which I wasn't! We love creatures of all shapes and sizes. I grew up with dogs and have always loved them as friends and adventure buddies. This concept started out as sketches in my black book, and I worked out many styles.
From foxes to long cats to wolves to simple barking dogs, I was drawing them all in marker, ball-point pen, and pencil. I liked that each of them had a different feeling that was really accentuated by the choice of drawing tool.
During this process, I went to a drawing party, and there was a fun little canine there named Dexter. I considered him for the piece, along with some other dog friends of the same breed. It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles, CA hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out to patients.

when it came to canvas sizes, I always kind of assumed that inches belonged with dpi and pixels were just pixels and that everyone knew that; but i read a whole bunch of comments on a tumblr blog where someone asked about canvas sizes, and SO MANY people were replying with things such as, "4000x4000 px at 300 dpi" or "2000x2000 px at 200dpi".
and I guess not everyone quite understands what dpi's really used for xD.
DPI = Dots per Inch. It means how many dots will be printed per inch.
DPI is actually used for printing purposes. It shows the printer how much pixels to print per inch, literally. A common printer (at home or even at a lot of printing stores) at best prints at 150dpi most of the time actually; there are some super duper great printers that can print REALLY fine that can go up to ...apparently a lot more xD; #dpi, so that's why everyone usually suggests saving your project at 300dpi; most printers are f

When I first saw it, I was instantly captivated.
At first thought...
...what a brilliant example of modern pointillism! Has some unknown artist taken up the long abandoned banner of Georges
Seurat and presented us with a new manifesto championing art as points of light illuminating our waking dreams?!
OK, I see now it’s not a painting at all, so my pointillism exuberance is dashed. It’s more likely one of those photo collages

I figured I'd give you guys an update of my life since... well.. March. Time for a list!
1. I have completed this school year. Which means, sophomore year is complete in college! :woot:
2. I leave for Italy this upcoming Tuesday for two weeks.
--Super excited to go back, and this time, I'm going with a class so I'll actually be getting college credit. Quite nice! Lots of food, wine, fun times, operas, and a lot more. I wish I was already there.
3. I'm still trying to find some jobs for the summer. :/ I need income badly.
4. Unlike 3, I WILL be continuing my work as an editor at school for 2013-2014. Which is GREAT! I'll be doing fiction this time, so it's really up where my interest is. And I'm so glad Natasha said I can remain an editor for the entire year even though I can only be in the class for Fall, and not Spring.

Relativity has been getting a bit of extra attention lately due to a few high-profile art pieces and a growing interest in the series. We're very excited about this and hope to keep the momentum going. We have a couple other prominent commissions on the horizon and plans to finally get profile sheets for the remaining characters. That said, our main focus has returned to the stories, since that is what Relativity is really about. "Date Night" is still set for publish next week with "Payback" close behind. Finding correct information can get tough, especially if it is obscure, hidden, answered incorrectly or has conflicting answers.

I'm sure you've all seen the jokes, but this one stems from David Cage, who gushed over the tech demo of an old man's face for the PS4, remarking about how the only way to get "true" emotion is by bridging the uncanny valley with high resolution models, hi-def textures, and realistic shaders. "True emotion" of course can't be found in books, TV, or cartoons because none of those things can depict the exquisite details of a wrinkled face in true HD glory. I'm sorry to say this, David Cage, but if I can get an emotional response out of 16-bit pixel sprites from Chrono Trigger, or a pictureless book... your logic is faulty.

I've lost count of how many times someone, be it a big corporation or an individual, have asked me to illustrate for them for free. It will always go something like this "You draw this for us, and we will include your name in the credits. That's good publicity for you!" as if such a pathetic offer holds any merit.
There was one specific case where a guy wanted to use my drawing as a book cover but didn't want to pay. Yes, YOUNG JUSTICE fans, the sad news is now official. This very popular show will -- Reach-- its abrupt and premature end with the conclusion of Season Two. It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the reports. Of course, none of us was able to say anything about it since last year. It was a very fun ride. As for the reasons behind the cancellation, I can only say that it was beyond the control of WB Animation, and that the decision was made by the powers at Cartoon Network (bless 'em).
