Working Without a Pattern
Hi everyone! I'm TheSmall-Stuff and what I love is to make amigurumi, but I'm never patient enough to use a pattern. Because of this, I've found and developed a bunch of techniques that I use while designing the dolls that I make! What I'm going to try to do is explain my thought process in making a doll, and share some of the techniques that I use to form the shapes and the details in a character. Shapes are key!
When you go to make a doll, you need to pick it apart in your head and see all of the shapes that make the character. Sometimes it's easier to draw out a diagram of all of the pieces that go into the doll, to get a good idea of how it fits together. While you're planning, it's good to be thinking "How do I make this?" while you choose shapes. However
