I drew this back in 2009, as a commission for a guy who buys a lot of my original art. The original piece was done as a black and white, ink/brush illustration on bristol board. But of course I scanned it before I shipped it to the buyer. That digital scan has been sitting on my computer for over a year. And for some reason I just never got around to coloring it till tonight.
I've had the lineart for this one sitting around for about a year or so and decided to finally colour it with the arrival of my first ever graphics tablet. The original line work had no background so i decided to really test out my tablet and drew the whole thing digitally. For my first ever attempt I am really happy with the results and the amount of detail I managed to put in, Not that you can see it all here but there is individual threads in the stitching of his clothes, all the toy packaging is screen accurate and I even managed to get a whole lot of winks to other films and franchises sitting on the shelves.
Chucky was drawn on A3 Cartridge paper with Pencils ranging from 3H to 6B, Was then coloured and had background drawn in Photoshop CS2 with a Waccom Bamboo Tablet.
These days ponies are everywhere, and I just felt like perverting them a little by crossing it with one of my favorite anti-heroes, Spawn. The two could hardly be more different and contradictory, and for some reason mixing extreme contrasts is fun.
Spawn fighting the Redeemer....SICK! Okay, for any of you who actually know about Spawn, I know, Spawn's axe, Agony, is actually his cape. But for the sake of the picture, I think it would look weird if he had a different weapon.
The Star Touched Grove Wizards of the Coast Dungeon Magazine #219 Art Director: Kate Irwin Digital
Dungeon Magazine #219 is out and features one of my illustration! This illustration is for the article, The Star Touched Grove. I was asked to depict a Druid in his bear form that has been corrupted by the Far Realms ...this means a bear with TENTACLES! RAWR! I also got to design his little porcupine grub friend.
AVENGERS ICE CREAM. Tony Stark is a genius (yes, he knows he mentions it every now and then, but it's not bragging if it's true).
When Pepper asks him about an offer she received from an ice cream company, Tony knows people will go insane. There are Avengers toys, pyjamas, Halloween costumes, underwear (the Iron Man edition are boxer briefs, not thongs, thank you very much) and the horrendous Christmas ornaments. But ICE CREAM!
He proposes it to the team and the responses are mixed. Natasha gives a raised eyebrow to her cherry flavored ice cream confectionary, that's almost a yes. Steve says he doesn't think children should eat more candy and he shows his 'frown of disapproval' at his assigned applepie and vanilla flavor. Bruce doesn't mind because it's not him but the Hulk and he likes melon and passion fruit. Clint argues that Bruce Ice cream doesn't really sound delicious anyway - an grapes, really, can't Hawkeye taste better, he's sure he tastes better than grapes. Thor is ecstatic. He wants a pop tart flavor - and he asks for lemon for Loki. So they give it a go for a trial edition.
And yes, Tony might be socially handicapped at times, but he does realize that calling Steve Capsicle may not have been a good start for their friendship. But when he gets called in to assign names to the Avengers' individual boxes, he just can't resist. It's not his fault that everyone in advertising agreed and there was no responsible adult in the room to stop him (Pepper had to attend another meeting, so blame it on her). So really, it's not his fault that he's currently standing in the Avengers' community kitchen and trying out different flavors of the Captain America ice cream that is now called ...
"Hey Stark, when you're done fellating your Capsicle, can I borrow one of your bots to get down my arrows?"
----------- So yes, I did this. Not sorry at all.
Painted in Photoshop, Bamboo Tablet, approx. 40 hours. Disclaimer: None of the characters are mine.
This is a commission I finished earlier this month for the game master of an online Mouse Guard role-playing group calling themselves the “Blue Patrol” (hence the title). He asked me to draw something for his wife as a Christmas present, having it feature the mouse she was playing in the adventure and/or the other characters. So, I drew a scene in which the players were racing through the forest to warn a mouse settlement of an approaching weasel army, which they had to outrun and hide from along the way. I tried to draw it in David Petersen’s style as closely as possible. I’m not entirely satisfied with how it turned out, but the game master was happy, so I guess job well done
In order from left to right, there’s Wiglaf (the mouse with the rapier), Alistair (the mouse with the spear), Sebastian (the mouse with the hook and line, and who was the wife’s character), and Fenwick, a guardmouse they were sent to find who helped them escape through the forest. And, of course, there’s the weasel army in the clearing behind them The game master was kind enough to let me join their adventure at one point because the person who was playing Alistair quit, but I didn’t get to play for long. My classes made it too hard to play consistently and I had difficulties adapting to the game’s role-playing system u___u The system they were using was fairly different from the RPG systems I’m used to like D20 Modern and Obsidian
I waited until now to submit this here because I didn’t want his wife to see it before Christmas. But now Christmas is over, so I’m posting it Enjoy.
Oh and for those of you who don’t know, Mouse Guard is a comic book series by David Petersen [link] about a medieval society of mice known as The Guard who help protect and preserve mousekind from the elements and predators [link] It’s really interesting and if you’re a fan of the Redwall series[link] , I’m sure you’ll like it. I know I do. I’ve been following the comics since they started in 2006

commissioned piece for of his OCs zoanoid Duronel and zoalord Lynette Morgan. This one was a bit trickier in concept since it's characters based on an old series that i'm not quite familiar with (Bio Booster Armor Guyver's zoanoid monsters). Still, the six year old in me is enraged that I don't do more creature art like this, so this was pretty cool to do
Those shoulder pods are actually "bio blasters", which is kinda strange and yet SWEET. He's even got shooty stuff on his wrists so in addition to looking like he could tear out your arms and soul, this fellow has RANGED attacks.
What they're attacking here, I can't say, but the dialogue I came up with is "There's that bitchy JESSICA girl! GET HER!"
Some responses to "Bromango" [link] suggested that a male version of Gogo is basically only a few clicks away from being Nathan Explosion. To which I replied:
And since it also occurred to me that i'm a huge fan of Metalocalypse but ain't never done no fan art, here's a tribute lineup using my own characters Hector as William Murderface on bass guitar Didi as Skwisgaar Skwigelf on lead guitar Gogo as Nathan Explosion on vocals Andy as Pickles the Drummer Trips as Toki Wartooth on rhythm guitar (I kind of had to reach for a 5th character and figured i'd choose the one who's gonna need more development anyway )
SO yeah...just a silly diversion for shits and giggles in my own tribute to one of my favorite bands/shows....Although i DO like the idea of a platinum-blonde Didi shredding a Gibson.
This is my submission for the Deaditesonline Evil Dead parody movie poster contest. I want to make so changes to this but i need some time away just to gain my barrings. Evil Dead and Gears of War what could be better!
