Discussion - HDR, pro or against?Okay so I guess first of all we'll have to explain in a simple and short way what HDR photography is, the objective of using this technique and some other aspects.More Like This
In a simple way, we can say HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography is a technique used to enlarge the dynamic range of the picture, with the objective of not having black, underexposed areas and white burnt areas, both without details. To make an HDR photo you'll have to make several pictures with different exposure values (EV), and then merge them with softwares like Photomatix or Blender.
HDR shouldn't be confused with tone mapping (those horrendous pictures which want to look like HDR pictures, but made of only 1 picture). They can be done using programmes like Photomatix, but that's not an HDR and I'd reccomend you not to use it, because it produces halos and horrible, oversaturated colours.
So, which are my views? I'd say I support HDR techniques, but only in some very specific cases (hard light conditions with stro
