Have you ever wondered who the most popular characters are at DeviantART?
I liked $danlev's recent post on Trending deviantART Search Terms in October. It got me thinking about popular characters on DeviantART in terms of deviation count. I'm going to need some help with this research project.

Ego vs tirednessThe other day a friend told me that he meet an artist he liked in a con in san diego, and he said to me that he was a real douchebag. I replied to him, does he was all day signing to a lot of people at the both?, did he had pain in his back?, do you catch him running like crazy to the bathroom and you wanted to tell him the story of your life? Did you interrupt him talking to a friend he havent seen in 8 years? When you were talking to him the line was big so he interrupt you to give minutes to the person you didnt see at your back? Did he was sick and taking pills at the booth? Did he receive a call that he wont get paid and got mad? Did a close family member died recently and he just wants to be alone and shows no interest in your talking about Dragon Ball?More Like This

Abuse of realism can be badNote: i just used the word realism, because im not smart to think a better word in english, by realisim i mean over dose of photo references, no personal color palette, no nothing just a guy that his work looks like photos taken from different people, no humansoul behind it. Im not attacking a genre of art here, because realism can be personal too, it can have the artist touch, but that takes decades to perfect.Even realism can be personal, i love a lot of artist that works realism, but they master it, i can recognize their work, they take their own photos, they dont seek short cuts. Im talking of reference abuse, people that just wants to skip steps, the artist that cant imagine things anymore, and uses photos from someone else and copies it.. Im talking about realism starting to affect just too much your comic and cartoony look, to the extreme, that you wont recognize who DRAW that?More Like This
