The winter had come particularly late that year, and so it was that when the 31st of January came around, the remains of the first snow still lingered upon the ground.

Hisana Kuchiki was sitting on the floor of her room, a quilt wrapped around her shoulders for warmth, mind spinning. She knew that the 31st was her husband, Byakuya Kuchiki's, birthday, but what was more she had no clue what to give him. She knew she ought to get him something, to show her love and appreciation for him, but the right thing just wouldn't come to mind. She knew Byakuya would act happy no matter what she gave him, but she wanted the gift to show him that she really cared. He would have no use for an expensive gift, because there were precious few things he could not get if he truly wanted to, having all of the Kuchiki fortune at his disposal.
