Searching for the SunThe sun seems to have left this world.More Like This
Robbed of all its warmth and kindness.
The people I am surrounded by don eternal masks of frowns,
cloudy skies instead of summer,
their light replaced by void.
This whole town is assailed by storms.
They ravage silently and inwardly,
within each of us.
Shaking and breaking our cores
to the very foundations of our souls.
Threatening to take everything of yours that makes you your own
that makes you yourself.
To take your heart and leave you
lying broken in the cold
in the gutter.
Tossed aside like an old, abandoned hous.
Unable to harbour anything.
No use to anybody. Unwanted.
In a riot of disbelief.
The world cries for the return of the sun.
Longing for love and light and hope.
Lingering in fear of what might become of itself
Left alone without any goodness in the world.
Left to survive and strive forward on yet again.
Searching for the sun.
