A whisper breaks the silence.
“I love you…”
The bed creaks,
Beside her a voice speaks.
“I love you too…”
They shift to face each other in the dark.
Fingers caress a tender cheek.
Full lips smile and part.
Warm lips meet and sighs sound.
A hand knots in thick hair,
The other is placed against a warm back.
Shirts are discarded,
Fingers trace smooth skin.
The moment ends too soon…
Bodies shift and they lay down.
Shirts cover their torsos.
Desire hangs between them,
Love is full in their hearts.
Little InsecuritiesLittle InsecuritiesMore Like This
Little lines carefully placed,
Eyes just right, ears straight.
Manes and tails flowing,
Hooves rounded and proportioned.
Fur detailed carefully,
Scales drawn exquisitely.
Joints just right.
"You're no good."
"It looks stupid."
"You're a terrible artist."
The cruel words echo in her mind and sting her heart.
Words thought out and perfected.
Thoughts flowing on paper
Like a quiet stream.
Feelings bouncing around
Like the thoughts in her head.
"You can't write."
"You have no hope in writing."
Their cruel words make her bite her lip in shame.
Laughing, smiling, joking.
Friends gathered together watching anime.
Sadness, anxiety, fear.
The clouds descend.
"You're a horrible friend."
"You're nothing but a burden."
"They'd be better off if you were dead."
Little insecurities collect in her mind.
If only she could see,
The words aren't coming from her friends,
They are coming from me.

The last words she reads on her phone
Before she settles in with her dog,
Resting her head on the pillow.
A small yawn, a small smile
As the dog licks her cheek.
Her eyes close, she falls
Into the darkness of the night.
Nothing but darkness.
But then colors spring up in her delicate mind.
Happiness, joy, laughter quickly
Turns into terror.
Lost, chased, dead.
Murdered, hated, forgotten.
Nothing but terror.
It quickly consumes her.

Hot summer day,
The smell of flowers in the air.
Completely alone, she brings a
Tender life into the world.
The calf can't breathe.
She helps the tiny, trembling form.
Next day, the calf won't eat.
She is spotted and receives a little moo.
The girl smiles and offers a bottle,
Little Sakura drinks happily.
Tail swaying, grunting softly.
The girl scratches behind her ear.
Weeks pass, their bond grows.
But the little calf becomes sick.
The girl remains by her side.
Slowly the calf is dying.
The girl leaves for a weekend.
Little Sakura grows weaker.
Returning, she finds Sakura...
Gasping for breath.
Two days pass.
Sakura is gone.
Depression attacks the girl.
Why did this have to happen? the girl wonders.

The Left Shoe PoemWhat would you doMore Like This
without your left shoe?
While one foot is protected
from the cold and rain,
and while one foot walks on leather,
the other inherits fungus
and walks on hard gravel.
Now say you met someone
who had your left shoe,
but while you notice this,
you notice their other bare foot too.
Now you could ask for your left shoe,
but instead, what do you do?
You give them the other one too.
And that's the crazy little thing called love.
