If you're not already aware, I'm a self-taught artist with little to no schooling on the subject. I thought I knew how to draw when I was a kid and I thought that drawing from shapes and building your characters out of forms was stupid. I don't know what the proper term for this is so I'm going to refer to it as construction drawing or under drawing throughout this post.
