FINISHED!!!!! See here! nephtis.deviantart.com/art/Nig…

I discovered Worbla's finest art recently.

Here is my current project, I plan to do the Nightingale armor from Skyrim. The side parts will be vegi leather.
Thanks a lot to Kamui for her Armor tutorial(s) www.kamuicosplay.com/tutorials

This will be a scale armor kind of outfit and the scales will be attached flexibly.

Next: Smooth, primer and base color
Long term: Sewing! I will need a cape, and the leather parts of my armor.

Well here is the start of my armor for Karliah from Skyrim in her Nightingale armor.

Its all craft foam, 2mm and hot glue is used where the black lines are, the lower half has not had its detailing glued together yet.
It is still yet to be painted and some parts are only sticked on with tape for the moment.
Ignore the thicker black lines, that's where I made some errors, but they will not be noticeable once painted.

Arm armor has been made, but the mannequin does not have arms so..anyway haha

1st of 3, for my group Skyrim group of the Nightingales: Karliah, Brynjolf and the Dragonborn.
I'll be making all three, two female and one male. Fun times ahead haha ^.^

A furthered work in progress shot.

There are still many things that need to be fixed, tweaked, and altered. For example, the shirt needs to be taken in a bit to fit Pip more snugly. The pants will overall be tightened to accommodate boots and armor that will cover the thighs. The cloak needs to be hemmed, and the leather 'hood ornament' needs to be detailed and dyed. It's dark in the photo due to some minor/temporary wet-shaping I did, which needs to be redone. This should correct the hood's shape to give it more of a Nightingale look. I also know that a certain part of the armor appears to be awkward looking, and that is because an ornamental piece will be covering that area, so I've left room for that accommodation.

I'm overall happy with the progress that I am making. Currently this costume is sitting at 65%.

Cheers!

Did a bit more water shaping today. Still have a ton of trimming and refining to do on most of the armor. Might redo where the buckle is as far as the under-skirt is concerned in order for the "butt-flap" to have proper placement. So far I am happy with where it is going.

After the body is complete, I'm going to work on the pants, then the boot covers, and finish off with the gauntlets. The mask will be completed along with the hooded cloak.

I'm going to try and make a sword in time for AWA. If not, then I have some scimitars that I can use. Eventually I would like to make the Nightingale bow.

Work done by myself.

EDIT: Wow! I just smacked my forehead. I cannot believe I did that. Two of the front panels are backwards. They should each be on the opposite's side. Fixing that right now. Next update, they will be where they should.

I've got about 10 or so days left until AWA. This is definitely a costume I never thought would get made, especially out of leather. Keeping my fingers crossed. I just hope the end product looks as fantastic as the progress.

All that's left is to dye the remaining pieces, finishing detailing a few pieces, add the embellishment in the stomach region (that blank area), finish the boots, finish the leg armor, adjust the hood, and try to complete a sword in time for the convention.

Wish me luck!

Here is a 1080p video of it in action.
[link]

Inspired by the Iron man HUD layout, I went and designed this layout for my Windows 7. WATCH IN 1080p Full screen for best preview.
Fully functioning clocks/cpu info/weather/etc WITHOUT lag. Every thing is interactive and efficient. I will soon be releasing a full on tutorial on how to set this up. You guys will be provided with the files and instructions.

Sorry about the shaky video, and small unfocused parts, I had to record with one hand and move around. The design looks much better, than seen in this video. I will make a whole new video, this time, actually recording the screen via software and providing more detailed info. I just don't have time at the moment.

Please like/favorite so I can get a sense of how many people wish to have this layout.
-----------------------------------
~Extra info:
1. THESE ARE NOT STANDARD WIDGETS. These are not something you can on windows, these are smart apps which are capable of much more, without using much system resources.
2. Everything is locked into place so they will not be moving around with accidental clicks and what not.
3. Everything starts up when windows starts, so no need to manually restart every time.
4. The bottom left, indicates the ram/memory usage, and allows me to click the start button to access info from the top.
5. Bottom right, are 2 USB drive memory usage indicators. Working just fine.
6. Middle left is the audio controller, up/down, fairly obvious.
7. Next to Data/music/video tabs, there is a real time file/memory indicator.
8. The music controls above the tabs, has iTunes hooked up, so clicking the red start buttons allows me to not only open itunes, but control the music as well. (Other comparable ones are not capable of this).
9. At the very bottom middle, I have a full fledged mac dock (this is not a object dock), which is capable of everything the real mac dock is able to do. I can shut down/sleep etc my comp/minimize and maximize/have same effects and much more.

*EDIT* FINISHED UNFOLDING THE ENTIRE SUIT!!! :la:

AND FIGURED OUT THE SCALE, TOO! The default size of this template is best suited to cosplayers who are 5ft 7in tall. However, though, I've also added a 'key' to help accurately re-size it yourself if you need to. :D

Thrown together via request. So far only the helmet is properly organized on the print layout, but the entire suit of armor IS there. You'll just have to arrange everything yourself if you want the rest of it before I can get around to polishing this off all spiffy. Ven's armor was actually 6th down my 'To-Papercraft' list, but whatever. Quick and half-hat often actually IS better than a-year-later-and-perfect. ;)

This is Ventus' gameplay model from "Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep". Default size is 6ft 3in (190cm) tall from shoe bottoms to horn tips. I have not yet calculated what that translates to in terms of wearer-height, but I'm sure you'll manage.

APOLOGIES, but I can't afford to "unlock" Pepakura Designer on my computer at this time. So, that means I cannot save .pdo files, at least for the time being. I figured a PDF would be better than nothing. First and foremost I made this for myself, as much as I do enjoy sharing, and the inconvenience doesn't actually bother me that much. :p

THIS WAS MADE FROM A MODEL RIPPED FROM KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX. I have the Birth By Sleep model, but the KHII version just looked more sleek, badmuffin, and mysterious. I think the "ears" are a tad longer. In all, I just liked it better. The difference could in fact just be my imagination. At the end of the day, this is still right out of the games! (The Japan-only editions, mind you.)

Version WITHOUT texture: [link]

I HAVE NOT TEST-BUILT THIS YET!

Known Quirks:

0. What in the unhealthy name of deep fried french fries?!!!! Wha happen to the texture?!! Sorry, it seems to have become cell-shaded in the process of uploading the PDF to DeviantArt. IT'S DEVIANTART'S FAULT! I'll try again, but if it still doesn't work, you'll just have be happy with the best I can do. :|

1. This is not to scale, but it is large, so take some measurements to estimate proportionately weather it will be too small or too big for you.

2. None of the glue tabs are labeled yet. :noes::noes::noes::noes: *Jaws music plays*

3. The polygon faces on the .obj file were inside out, so if you know which dotted lines mean "valley fold" and "mountain fold"-----I actually don't-----then just imagine they mean the other way around.

In all.....as a total undeniable Noobus ignoramus on the subject of 3D modeling.......you happen to be looking at the result of nearly a week of solid sleepless study and tinkering with code that might as well be in written Iclandinc for all I know. Would have gone much faster and less painfully if any of the experts I write to for help ever write back. Ever.

But I would not be denied. :icongamefaceplz: Just lucky for me that my uncle, who happened to stop in the other day to fix our AC, happened to know his way around .mdx -> .obj file conversion. Yes, we here in AZ are still running our AC at this time of year. To us, October means that it's finally not hot outside after 10pm. :noes:

And, sorry, but I still can't spare the $40 to get the ability to save .pdo files unlocked by the Pepakura peeps. It's on my Christmas wishlist though. :)

And the winner is........ BLUE!! HURRAY!!:dummy:
The blueish colours have won by a total of TWO votes!! Seriously TWO VOTES!! I have counted EVERYTHING! All votes on previous and following polls on DA, all comments on DA and Tumblr and of course everything else I received! Cx It was an amazingly close shot right there, I am so surprised. Yet it shows me that there are indeed many things to messure when making a concept. You can't make everybody happy, but I noticed a lot that it wasn't just the colour people appreciated, but the concept itself. That makes me very happy.
Of course I have also included my person thoughts on the costume! Like what did I want to show with it? I read every suggestion and thoughts of yours carefully, thinking if I was doing the right thing or if I could possibly manage to get that same result by changing some details on the final costume? There was seriously a lot to think about and I am really thankful for your supportive words and votes!:heart:
Now enjoy this! I really put my heart into it! > u <

Currently, the hashtag “Women Against Feminism” has been trending on social media, and it has created quite the on-line feminist backlash. Feminists have been left scratching their heads, wondering why women of all people would have a problem with feminism. Why would women be against people who claim to be “advocating social, political, legal, and economic rights for women equal to those of men”?

If I had a dollar for every feminist who rebutted the phrase “I don’t like feminism” with “what do you have against equal rights for women?”, my wealth would rival that of Steve Jobs!

No, feminists, we do not have a problem with women wanting equal rights to men. Our problem is not with what feminists claim to stand for. Our problem is not with their positions. Our problem is with their words and actions.

You see, feminists, I don’t judge people based upon what they claim to stand for. If that were the case, I would take the word of Republicans that they support “limited government” or Democrats that they support “civil liberties”—and that would make me a very gullible person, indeed!

No, I simply do not trust feminists who try to define their feminism by mindlessly regurgitating the dictionary definition. I assume they are either liars or hypocrites. This is because their actions do not match their words. They claim to support gender equality, but their actions prove they do not.

I cannot claim to know why women oppose feminism (because I, as a man, do not feel I should speak on behalf of women, as I think that they, as grown adults, can speak for themselves), but as to why I oppose feminism (or at least feminists), here are a few of my own reasons:
#1: They claim to care about "gender equality" yet only focus on the "privileges" of men and "inequalities" of women while ignoring the privileges of women and inequalities of men.

#2: They blame the "gender wage gap" on "institutional sexism" while ignoring all other contributing factors.

#3: They claim that women should be free to do what they want with their own lives, yet often demean women who choose traditional roles such as being stay-at-home mothers.

#4: They claim that they don't think "all men are rapists," and yet argue that the most effective method of preventing rape is to "teach men not to rape."

#5: Some of the more radical ones insist that "all men are rapists" by claiming that all PIV (Penis-In-Vagina) sex is rape, even if it's consensual.

#6: They claim that America is a “rape culture,” when even the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN), one of the most trusted sources of sexual violence information in the nation, has dismissed the concept.

#7: They promote mixed messages such as "no means no, but sometimes, yes doesn't mean yes."

#8: They claim to support "female empowerment," and yet when someone like Miss Nevada suggests that women empower themselves by taking self-defense training, they accuse her of supporting "rape culture."

#9: They claim rapists should bear full responsibility for rape, and yet when a human rights activist was raped in Haiti, the blame was placed, not on the man who raped her, but rather on the "oppression of white men."

#10: They fudge data in order to lie about how domestic violence against women increases on Super Bowl Sunday.

#11: They deny that men can be victims of domestic violence, going so far as to make death threats against activists who argue on behalf of male domestic violence victims.

#12: They want men to respect women, and yet claim that men showing respect towards women is "benevolent sexism."

#13: They want to "ban bossy" because they claim not enough women are in positions of power because little girls are called "bossy." (Not helping their credibility: one of the female "role models" is Condoleezza Rice--the female politician whose lies forced America into a needless war!)

#14: They create dishonest propaganda regarding "sexual objectification" within video games.

#15: They demand more empowered female characters in the media, but claim many female characters do not count because they are simply "assuming the role of a man."

#16: They oppose how the media presents an "unrealistic body image" for women, but say nothing about the "unrealistic body images" facing men.

#17: They accuse a little girl's cartoon of being homophobic, racist, and smart-shaming.

#18: They oppose science on the grounds of "male privilege," even going so far as arguing that Newton's Principia is a "rape manual," E=mc2 is a "sexed equation," and that male genitalia aids in "the privileging of solid over fluid mechanics."

#19: They resort to illegal tactics such as pulling fire alarms to silence dissenting opinion.
This is by no means a comprehensive list. There are far too many more reasons as to why I dislike modern feminism and their acolytes. But these are a few of the more notable and apparent ones. If you have any additional reasons why you do not care for feminists, please provide them in the comments below.

And to any feminists who wish to rebut any of my points, before you leave a comment, please follow the links I have provided and either read the source or watch the video in its entirety. This way, you have a firm understanding of my points.

If perchance you encounter a feminist complaining about "male privilege", show them this chart, and hopefully, it will shut them up—if they're intellectually honest (which is a big "if" for feminists!):

4Chan

Reminds me of an excellent Duckman rant: "Like I'm supposed to take women on how they 'feel' seriously? You want to be accepted for your minds, but you throw a hissy fit royale if someone isn't saying you look great 30 hours a day. You say you want a nice guy but you only give it up to the creeps. You get to stay home, not go to war, live longer, and have sex whenever you want. So remind me again: exactly what is there to complain about?"

EDIT 5/11/2014: Guys. GUYS. STAAAHHHP. This journal is fucking FIVE YEARS OLD, and that's about how old all of you are acting. I would say sorry for ~ruining your life~ by venting about your favorite sparkly animoo, but I'm not. And if your whole identity is really tied up in a fucking fandom, you have serious issues. Seek help. Disabling comments when I can, because whether you're trying to prove some stupid point to me, defend me, or logic this out with me, you're all equally retarded. Go home, boys and girls, show's over!

So a few friends have been asking me lately what I've got against this inexplicably popular series that seems to have popped up recently called Axis Powers Hetalia. They love it... and I HATE it. Hate it hate it hate it!!! But the mere fact that it fills me with boiling rage everytime I think about it is not a good enough reason for them, so I guess I'll try to piece together why it pisses me off so very much. -I'm- not even entirely sure why I dislike it so much, so this'll be a learning experience for everyone involved, hmm? :)

First off: the concept. Yes, it's kind of a cute idea. Anthropomorphization of anything can be fun if done well. The problem is, it's not done well. This wouldn't be such a big deal if the series wasn't so fucking popular. You can get away with some historical errors if you're a little podunk webcomicker with a solid twelve fans, but not if your series is so big that it gets turned into an anime. And the whole WWII thing is just in bad taste, especially coming from Japan, a country that, to this day, tends to deny any wrongdoing in WWII. And that's certainly not me hating on Japan, that's just a fact.

Second, the characters. Jesus-fucking-Christ-on-a-cross, the goddamn motherfucking characters. Talk about the most uninspired, unoriginal, impossible to tell apart, two-dimensional, and flat-out insulting cast of characters you've ever seen!! It pisses me off both as an artist and as a writer to see so much praise heaped upon such bland, poorly-designed characters. Yes, you can argue that they're supposed to be stereotypes or something and ignore the fact that none of them have any sort of engaging personality. Fine. Whatever. Have your Sues and eat them too. But couple that with the genericness of their aesthetic design and the already-poor art style of the original comic and you have a perfect piss-off-Lissa cocktail. Note to any budding artists out there: changing the hair/eye color/style of a person DOES NOT A NEW CHARACTER MAKE. If people tend to confuse your characters with each other, you are doing it. Fucking. Wrong.

Third, the history. Listen, Mr. Hotshot-Hetalia-Writer, if you're not going to do your fucking research, don't get anywhere NEAR the subject of world history to "satirize" (and APH is not satire, as this Deviant's journal kindly points out). The history of any given country, particularly of the powers involved in WWII, is a touchy, objective, and sometimes downright painful subject. To not handle the matter with care is a surefire way to piss off anyone whose life has been affected by things like the Holocaust or the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki or September 11th. If I've heard correctly, the comic completely glosses over the Holocaust. It's a comic about fucking World War II. Either include ALL of the war, both what little good is there to be found and the bad, or don't fucking cover the war at all. See what I mean? The very idea of trying to make light of such a dark part of history is incredibly offensive... and that's coming from someone who, to my knowledge, hasn't really been affected by WWII. Hell, I don't even give a damn about history and I don't claim to know much about it, I nearly failed that class a couple times. But I DO care about making fun of people who have done nothing wrong, and a LOT of innocents were wronged in that war. To pretend their suffering just didn't happen for the sake of entertainment is nothing short of despicable.

And I've saved the pettiest reason I hate Hetalia for last: the fucking fandom. I'll readily admit that mainstream anything tends to piss me off. Not always, but pretty damn often. I wouldn't even call Hetalia "mainstream," but it's popping up in enough places I frequent to REALLY get under my skin, DeviantART being the biggest offender here. A few people don't care for Hetalia because they're squicked by the yaoi it spawns. Well guess what? I love yaoi, and that's yet another reason I'm so pissed off by APH!! It's one thing to pair up fictional characters from a story and another entirely to slash entire countries with one another... and be entirely serious when you do so. If you were poking fun in an Encyclopedia Dramatica sort of way, fine by me. "OLOLOL THAT COUNTRY IS SO THAT OTHER COUNTRY'S BITCH LOLOL" and move on. But then people write fanfics and draw fanart of these bishounen that are supposed to represent countries and make them boink? And they actually try to make it serious? Excuse me?? I'm sorry, but the idea of countries even being attracted to one another is one I find so absurd as to be laughable. Countries, even anthropomorphized ones, do not have "relationships" with each other. It's all strictly business. Sure, you CAN twist all that around to fit your sparklypoo slashfics, but then you come right back to the issue of that whole "pissing off people" thing. Let's insult an entire generation of people for a silly little yaoi story. That sounds like a wonderful idea. :|

So there you have it, my overly wordy explanation for my anti-Hetalia-ness. All of that, plus the fact that I'm just really fucking sick of hearing about/seeing APH everywhere. Sane, rational people are treating this series like it's the best fucking thing to ever happen ever and that sentiment is pissing me off. It's not cute, it's not clever, it's not well-done, and no matter how many times you say otherwise, the fandom is fucking retarded... as most fandoms are.

And now I'm going to go read some nice, unoffensive, plotless yaoi to cool my rage - yaoi that is nothing more than two guys that are hot and want to sex it up. Nothing deeper than that. WHICH IS HOW IS SHOULD BE DAMMIT.

It has been a long time since we put so much magic into one piece, and we are thankfull for the chance.

Chick to Click....er
Before and After image of our Model Emma and the dress we used.

Model [link]

The Make.
I got the dress at Primark for £8. I used varying levels of sandpaper and rubbed the hell out of it, there was green fluff everywhere!?
I then used Blue clothe dye and dyed the entire dress to change the awful bright colour and then re-dyed the dress for a short time in Black clothe dye and then kept dyeing the dress from the bottom at different levels.

So a my friend :icondukongmeng: and I while discussing cosplays from comics and other pop culture that isn't anime starting talking about Batman characters we would like to cosplay.

When we got to Harley Quinn she mentioned that she didn't like the Injustice version of the character's outfit. I googled and had to agree with her.
Though I liked the concept, I felt that they where trying to sexualize the character more then needed.

I also did this redesign because I wanted something I could cosplay as. So here it is I hope people like.

I did this all with colored pencils. Using Pigma Micron pen more the inking.

10/12/12: cleaned the background and fixed the lighting.

Keeping it short because of the 31st of Dec.!
Took me longer than i planned...
First i wanted it to do more in an expressive kind of style but than went into the more comic-style because i wanted to show the darkness-creatures in their whole glory!
Why participated?
Cool character, Biotechnoid-creatures from hell and dirty textures!
Here we go...

well....the darkness is a comic, and a game too, i like it, i think it's a interesting story...if you have time, read or play it, it worth it!!
well...i wanted to mix the game and the comic(the guy appears like in the comic,and the creatures are just like the game) , jackie is the guy ,and those creatures are the ''power'' of the darkness , jackie is the host of the darkness. i like it so much, so ...i thought that i could do jackie and the darkness , or the host of the darkness, whatever....aaand....okay, i have to thank everybody who follow me,really, i would never thought that people could ask for me !! so, thank you!!!(my english it's bad)
i hope you like it :giggle: :heart:

Jackie Estacado from The Darkness

For this weeks battle at :iconbattle-artist:

I went a different route with this piece. Wanted to do something dark (for obvious reasons :P) and keep it to a minimal amount of color.

Check out my opponents gallery too! :iconzero-optix:

I'm curious as to which look you like. The shaved, the default, or the grizzly. :D Personally I think he's hot in all of them. <3
Okay I'll go to bed now, and dream about this man. :flirty:

A secret project I’ve had in the works: Master Chief!
I decided to make him after watching all of Arby ‘N’ The Chief :3 ([link])

Now if only I can make an Arbiter pattern…

I attempted a new brand of fabric adhesive with Master Chief that I will NEVER use again! Its called 3-IN-1 Advanced Craft Glue and its a thinner glue, with less hold than the Fabric-Tac I usually use on these dolls. I was going strong on Master Chief with almost no seam clean up needed - until I started using the 3-IN-1. . . I think I spent 2 hours cleaning up the helmet alone because of that stuff. Yuck!

I'm sure it's a good adhesive for less detailed projects though.

Master Chief was my first Halo Doll made using my new OOK wire: (samanthawagner.deviantart.com/gallery/34070493#/d4k6rxw)

I’m proud to announce that we have some new stuff coming out The Workshop! (About time, right?)

I’m also ecstatic for the addition of two new crafting members to my madness. We now have a member specializing in knit and crochet items as well as a new crafter bringing her quilting and tapestry skills to the mix. Lets just say I’m jumping for joy at all the creativeness that’s going on behind closed doors lately! (Seriously, that didn’t sound quite so ominous in my head before I typed it.)

I hope to be posting their original works here soon as well.

Here is my latest addition to said madness, my newest gaming addiction: Halo!

"I do not want to catch pregnancy!"
"That guy Tex is really a robot... and you're his boyfriend! So that makes you... a gay robot."
"Speak now! Or forever rest in peace! For liberty... and justice for all! The end."
"Dancing time!"

- Red vs Blue quotes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry - much love for the simple minded Caboose. <3 Best character in Red vs. Blue and I think many shall agree with me there.
Anyway, finally finished Caboose!
As stated in his WIP pic, I added a braided metal frame inside the doll that allows for better posing than on Sarge, my prototype.
In trying to add more stability, I ended up stuffing Caboose much more compactly... As a result I had to extend many of the armor pieces around the torso and midsection... So this guy has been loving nick-named Chubby. (Trust me, the jokes have not stopped in the workshop about this!)
In addition, the visor on his helmet ended up being pushed back. I think this construction accident actually gave him a more innocent and curious expression which fits with the character.... that or I was working too late without coffee again and sniffing far too much of the fabric tac fumes... hmm....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For more construction details, please see Sarge doll here: [link]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next doll to be made is Church - but I'm having a hard time finding the right colored materials for his armor. (Yes, I am far too picky sometimes.)
