Debut: SCP Foundation (2007)
Voice: Steven Blum
The specimen known as SCP-049 is also known as the "Plague Doctor", due to his resemblance to the traditional plague doctors from the middle ages. However, it is unknown if this creature is really human or not, especially due to the fact that the mask and robe are part of his body, thus making him somewhat alien. SCP-049 is very much docile, except when he performs surgery on patients. Anytime one makes physical contact with him, the person dies and SCP-049 takes the body with him, and thus, a bizarre form a surgery is started. Believing that he's "curing" the person, he dissects the dead body and places chemicals inside of it. After sewing up the corpse, the corpse becomes reanimated into a zombie that does his very bidding.

SCP-049 TheorySome things to point out about SCP-049 first - his docile nature, his termination of the "infected", and the nature of that termination.More Like This
SCP-049 kills people it believes are infected. During a conversation with it, the doctor who first spoke with it made the assumption that the "Great Pestilence" it spoke of was the plague. This is perfectly agreeable, as SCP-049 takes on the appearance of a Plague Doctor. However some things do not add up. Firstly, the doctor's own assurance, that "no one here is infected". If it were the plague SCP-049 was sensing, it would be very apparent that certain people did have the plague, as the symptoms are very noticable. However, it is clear that no one is infected in the SCP Foundation, due to the lack of symptoms and, most simply, because the plague occurred several hundred years ago, and such an epidemic has not taken such a toll since then. Simply, the chances of someone infected with the said disease is very, very small.
